Bred-By-Exhibitor Dogs American Bred Dogs Open Dogs Winners Dog Puppy Bitches (6 mos. to 9 mos.) Veteran Dogs Class I Veteran Bitches Class I (A class for Dogs and a class for Bitches 7 years of age and over BEST OF BREED COMPETITION The following categories of dogs may be entered and shown in Best of Breed Competition: Dogs that are Champions of Record and dogs who, according to their owners records, have completed the requirements for a Championship but whose Championships are unconfirmed. The showing of dogs whose Championships are unconfirmed is limited to a period of 90 days from the date of the show where a dog completed the requirements for a Championship according to the owners records. Non-Regular Classes involving multiple dog entries Stud Dog Class: For Stud Dogs and two of their get. Stud Dogs must be entered in the Stud Dog Class and must be shown in the ring with their Get. Owner of the Stud Dog need not necessarily be the owner of the Get. Get only to be judged, based on the merits of the get.Brood Bitch Class: For Brood Bitches and two of their Produce. Brood Bitches must be entered in the Brood Bitch Class and must be shown in the ring with their Produce. Owner of the Brood Bitch need not necessarily be the owner of the Produce. Produce only to be judged, based on the merits of the Produce.
Brace Class: For two dogs of the same breed with identical ownership. Both dogs must be entered in a Regular or Non-Regular Conformation Class. The entry forms must be marked accordingly in the space provided for Additional Classes (Brace). If more than one Brace is entered by the same owner, the dogs comprising each Brace must be so designated "Brace #1, Brace #2, etc. Entry Fee is $12.00 as a Unit. PARADE OF CHAMPIONS AND TITLEHOLDERS Following Best of Breed judging. This is a non-competitive Parade of Champions and/or Obedience Title Holders. SWEEPSTAKES Judge: Mr. Mark GeorgeSweepstakes will be judged prior to the Regular Classes. The Sweepstakes of the Washington State Welsh Terrier Club is open to all Welsh Terriers who are at least 6 months of age and under 18 months of age on the day of the Specialty Show. The entry fee will be $12.00 in addition to the regular entry. All dogs and bitches entered in the Sweepstakes must also be entered in a Regular Conformation Class at the regular fee, and on an American Kennel Club entry form. To enter, write "Sweepstakes" in the additional class box and state the age of the dog. Entries in the Sweepstakes may be shown by anyone in good standing with the American Kennel Club. Sweepstakes Classification: Puppy Dogs (6 mos. and under 9 mos.) Puppy Dogs (9 mos. and under 12 mos.) Dogs (12 mos. and under 18 mos.) Puppy Bitches (6 mos. and under 9 mos.) Puppy Bitches (9 mos. and under 12 mos.) Bitches (12 mos. and under 18 mos.) Age is determined as of the date of the Sweepstakes. Dogs compete for First through Fourth place in each age division. Winners of each division compete for Best in Sweepstakes. Division of Entry Money as Prizes Money from the entry fees will be divided as follows: 10% of Sweepstakes monies retained by Club to defray expenses. 35% shall be awarded to Best Puppy in Sweepstakes. The remaining 55% of the total entry for each Sweepstakes class shall be returned to exhibitors as follows: First Place...........................25% Cash prizes will be paid in the ring to the person showing the dog who will be considered as the owner or authorized agent. Any monies not claimed due to absentees will be retained by the club. Junior Showmanship CompetitionThe classes shall be: Junior Showmanship Classifications: NOVICE. This class shall be for boys and girls who are at least 10 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show and who at the time entries close have not won three (3) first place awards, with competition present, in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show. OPEN. This class shall be for boys and girls who are at least 10 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show and who have won three (3) first place awards in a Novice Class in a licensed or member show, with competition present. The winner of a Novice Class shall automatically become eligible, upon notice to the Open Class ring steward, to enter and compete in the Open Class at the same show provided the win is the third (3rd) first place award with competition and further providing there are one or more Junior Handlers competing in the Open Class. JUNIOR and SENIOR CLASSES. Novice and Open will be divided by Junior and Senior. A Junior class will be for boys and girls who are at least 10 years old and under 14 years old on the day of the show. A Senior Class shall be for boys and girls who are at least 14 years old and under 18 years only on the day of the show. Junior Handlers who win a third Novice Class with competition present after the closing of entries for a show may transfer their entry from the Novice Class to the Open Class provided that this transfer is made by the Show Secretary at least one half hour prior to the scheduled start of any regular conformation judging or one half hour prior to the scheduled start of Junior Showmanship judging at the show whichever is earlier. PLEASE NOTE: All information required on both the front and back of the official AKC entry form must be included. BITCHES IN SEASON ARE NOT ELIGIBLE. At a Specialty Show each dog must be of the breed for which the show is held. A dog that has been excused or disqualified by a Breed judge or by a Bench Show Committee may still be handled in Junior Showmanship if eligible to compete in Obedience Trials. A dog that has been rejected, dismissed, or excused by the Veterinarian for the protection of the dog excused may not be handled in Junior Showmanship. ENTRIES FOR REGULAR JUNIOR SHOWMANSHIP CLASSES SHALL CLOSE AT THE SAME TIME THAT ENTRIES CLOSE FOR THE SHOW. Winning First Place in an Open Junior Showmanship Class at this show may qualify, or count toward qualification for entry in certain future limited Junior Showmanship Classes. For information on the eligibility requirements for Limited Junior Showmanship Classes which have been approved to date by AKC, write to AKC, Show Plans, 51 Madison Ave., New York, NY 10010.
