| This is a topic that is pretty new to me. When I first heard anyone say that some translations of the Bible were wrong I disagreed. I had been reading NIV because it seemed easier to understand and it just happened to be the Bible I owned. The only difference I had noticed was that some were easier to read than others. One day I was helping my daughter look up her Sunday school memory verse and when I found it, it didn't match what was on her paper at all. I can't remember now what the verse was but it was totally different in KJV and NIV. I continued to use my NIV Bible for a long time after that but became aware of many differences between it and KJV. I still didn't think it was that big of deal though until our pastor preached on it one Sunday and I began to do a little studying of my own on the computer. I found one site that had some questions you are supposed to answer using an NIV Bible, I tried it and the more I read the more I realized that something wasn't right. Through the studying I have done, I am convinced that KJV is the most accurate english Bible we have available today. Not only do the other versions have many differences but those differences tend to be ones that leave out the diety of Christ, the trinity and many other very important facts. I have since thrown out my NIV Bible and bought everyone in my family new Bibles-King James version! |
