This special piece of red sandstone was perfect for a tribute to the Reverend Ray W. Stubbe.
Reverend Stubbe was Marine Chaplain for the 1st Battalion, 26th Marines during 1967-68... and the Siege of Khe Sanh.
For those who have been to Khe Sanh, the reddish color of this stone is near perfect when compared to the red dirt there. It stands twelve inches above a base of Purple-Heart wood, a rare and exotic hardwood from South America.
Special thanks to Lucille & Mike in Chicago for making this become a reality.
