Chinese BBQ Pork Spareribs


Ingredients

  • 2 lbs. pork spareribs, cut into 3 inch lengths (Costco sells a big slab with longer ribs)

Marinade Ingredients 

  • ½ cup char siu sauce or hoisin sauce
  • 3 tbsp Chinese rice wine or dry sherry
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame seed oil
  • 1 tbsp minced ginger
  • 2 tsp minced garlic
  • 1 tsp Chinese 5 spice powder

 

Recipe

  1. Marinade the ribs 6 hours to overnight
  2. Preheat oven to 400 F
  3. Place ribs on a rack in a foil lined pan, and cover loosely with foil
  4. Bake for 30 min
  5. Turn ribs over, baste with char siu sauce, and continue cooking, loosely covered about 30 min.
  6. Baste again with char siu sauce, and bake uncovered for 6 minutes until well glazed

 

Makes 4 servings
