Notice About Symbology and Ceremony

The purpose of Pantheist symbology and ceremony is to celebrate the Universe and Nature and to enhance our perception of them.  If ceremony should ever obscure this, then it is working against itself.  It's purpose is to deepen perception, not stand in it's place.

Pantheist Symbology

* The Pantheist symbol is the Comet.  Most of our Temple members wear an amulet which contains a circle with four straight lines coming off the back on a straight angle. Many of us include our Zodiac sign within the circle to signify our individuality.

* The symbol of Nature is any of the four elements, and wood.

* The symbol of Spirit are the Zodiac signs.

* The symbol of Body is the representation of any living creature, or a couple making love.

* Candles symbolize the Spirit of the Universe, and it is believed that one who celebrates Pantheism with candles will better perceive the Universe.

* The symbol of love and commitment to another individual through Union is a necklace, with one wooden bead of any colour on it for each year of commitment that has passed.  Many of our members wear these beads in conjunction with their Comet amulet.

* The symbols for individuality and creativity are jewelry and tattoes.  Jewellry should be created (not manufactured) and should be as individual as the wearer.

* The symbol for Starnight (see ceremonies) is any metallic, shiny string or necklace around the head of the woman and a cloth or hemp one around the neck of the man.  For same-gender couples, they should decide who will wear what.

* The symbol for Gaia (see ceremonies) is a cloth or hemp necklace around the woman's neck, which she burns when it is done.
