This relates to an average caseload per Officer of 88. The total number of Ledger points on the team= 3916.75 with an average points per Officer of 489.60. The Team opened 48 new cases and closed 31 . This relates to an August increase of 2.4% in cases...Highest cases ( 108-104) are in Ponca City and the lowest cases (54) are in the Noble County office. The increase in new cases has now appeared to be a significant Trend. CONTACT / MONITORING: 137 Home visits were required. The Team completed 134 which equals a 97.8% compliance rate. The Team UA'ed 54 Offenders during the month ( 156 seperate tests). The 54 Offenders= 7.6% of ALL offenders. 15 Offenders recorded "Positive" drug results or a 9.6% Positive rate. TREATMENT / REFERRALS: The Team reports that 124 Offenders are involved in Residential/Out-patient/ Education, or other programs to address their Criminogenic needs. This means that 17.6% of ALL Offenders are involved in Treatment/Programs activities. The Team reported that only 30 Probationers were referred to Programs during the month and "zero" Parolee's....As Paroles increase this number will and should increase. EMPLOYMENT/ SELF SUPPORT: Offenders Employed full time = 365 or 51.8% . When you add other Offenders who are also employed ( part-time; Disabled; Retired/Homemaker; and Students who have adequate support) and would be considered "self-supporting or legitimate support", the rate increases to 76.1% . This is an increase over previous months by nearly 2%.......GOOD JOB GUYS!!!!!!!. ABSCONDERS: 9 Offenders Absconded during the month of August and "zero" were apprehended. The nine who absconded relates to a 1.2% Absconder rate for August 2001. INVESTIGATIONS/ASSESSMENTS: 10 Pre-Parole investigation were completed ; 3 Interstate Investigations; 7 Pre Sentence and 15 Delayed Sentence Investigations were completed. 7 LSI's were done and 37 Substance abuse assessments were completed. 9 Offenders were DNA tested and 3 Offenders were registered as Sex Offenders. ARRESTS/VIOLATIONS/REVOCATIONS: 21 Offenders were arrested/charged during the month. These included New Arrests/ Technical violations or both. This number is up from previous months. Several Officers have indicated their acknowledgment that more violations occurred. Several explanations have been offerred: " summer time" ; "lesser number of home visits"per policy and to monitor and detect minor violations before they become serious"; and Community Sentencing. Partly, the CSD explanation is that " Offenders have quickly realized that the Courts will do very little to them "if they screw up". The attitude appears to be that "They will just slap my hand and tell me NO! NO!."" SUCCESS/ FAILURE RATE: Overall, this month, Our Success rate is 97.1% with an increase in the Failure rate to 2.9%. Cases continue to rise w/no letup in sight. Caseloads continue to rise. The Team continues to be (2) Officers short. Hiring and Budget issues continue to demand us to "Do more with less" and prove it. This really is nothing new....Thanks Guys for your Hard work and Dedication....WE DO MAKE A DIFFERENCE............WE CONTINUE TO "PROTECT THE PUBLIC" AT AN AMAZING COST ( $745.00 PER YEAR). David L.
