The Froetschls note that Joseph is known from Book 3 from Bruck Parish. His godfather (Pate) was Zacharius Aschenbrenner. Earlier versions of the Froetschl notes thought perhaps Joseph had a brother named Zacharias, but they decided it was this same person Joseph by the 1997 family tree.

From the 1992 notes, they note that Zacharias/Joseph bought 1/4 of a Hof (estate, little farm) from his father on 5 Jan 1713, but on the 1997 family sheets, that date is changed to 9 Jan 1726, and they say that Joseph's brother Johann Michael also bought on that same day.

The 1997 notes also say that in 1720/21, Joseph was ``auf der Steinmuehle'' (of the stone mill) by Alt Zedlisch.
