EXPERIENCE


FORSTAMT M�NCHEN-MUNICH DEPARTMENT OF FORESTRY-GERMANY
Internist, January 2005 � March 2005
Accompanied experienced foresters on daily activities including marking of timber (authorized to mark trees with out supervision), meeting with timber company representatives, site inspections after operations, supervision of contracted and state forest workers, participated in educational programs with school classes and conducted user surveys.  Skills learned include skidding trail establishment, positive and negative selection, TSI of young hardwoods, conversion of even aged spruce stands to mixed uneven aged spruce and beech stands, even aged spruce management and Bavarian hunting management.  Also developed and conducted an interpretive hike for a small group of 12 year olds on the history of hunting in Bavaria.

MISSOURI DEPARTMENT OF CONSERVATION, WHETSTONE, LITTLE DIXIE, REFORM, EAGLE BLUFFS � Conservation Assistant, April 2002 � December 2002
Duties include participation in prescribed fire and use of fire equipment including fire rakes, flappers, drip torches, ATV water units and ATV mounted drip torches.  Also experienced in mowing, disking and seeding using 110hp 4wd tractors, identification of forest grassland and bird species for a rotational grazing study at Reform Conservation area.  Savanna and glade restoration using chainsaws, herbicide application to parking lots and cericia lespedeza.

DEPARTMENT OF FORESTRY, UNIVERSITY OF MISSORI COLUMBIA
GIS and Spatial Analysis Lab Assistant, July 2001 � May 2002
Duties include digitizing topographical maps and digital orthoquarterquads using Arc View GIS
and Arc Info computer programs.  Created a photo mosaic of the current river for the USDA forest service.  Performed literature research and data entry from landscape ecology journals.

WORLD BIRD SANCTUARY � BUSCH GARDENS WILLIAMSBURG, VIRGINIA
Assistant Supervisor, January-May, 2000.  Supervisor, May-December 2000
Represents the World Bird Sanctuary at Busch Gardens, Williamsburg and acts as a WBS liaison to other bird and wildlife organizations at Busch Gardens.  Educates volunteers and new employees in public speaking, bird husbandry, handling and training of rare and endangered bird species.  Conducted six oral presentations daily to the public using trained raptors and corvids.  Assists with medical treatment of birds.  Appeared on local television and news broadcast promoting Busch Gardens wildlife programs.  Was interviewed by Jack Hannah and appeared on Jack Hannah�s �Animal Wise� television program.
