| German Beer List | ||||||||||||
| The following is a list of reccommendable german beers. This is not comprehensive of all the beers in Germany, just the ones I have tried (there are thousands, in Bavaria every small town usually has a brewery), also I cant remember all the different types I've tried!. The stars simply represent which beers I find outstanding. When learning about the different beer types, it is als good to know a little about the brewing process, specifically if a beer is top or bottom fermented (ober- und untergergrig). These two processes dictate what type of beer is brewed, and historcally, where these beers were brewed. In Bavaria it is tradition to drink this type of beer in the morning around 10 AM or so with a pretzel and some white sausage. In this situation I drink the Weizen as well, but only because its tradition : ) |
