My Report on Mexico
by Kimberly Swanson, age 10
This report is about Mexicans. They are people from Mexico, which is a
country that Daddy says is too close to where we live. Mexicans are people
who dont speak English, have brown skin, and smell kind of funny. They
like to eat things like tacos, burritos, macaroni and cheese, and cats. My
favorite is macaroni and cheese. I like it with ketchup.
Mexicans mostly live in California. There are some Mexicans in Texas and
New Mexico too, but not too many where I live. They work at Taco Bell most
of the time, but sometimes on farms. They also drive cars and ride the bus.
Daddy says that they are kind of like clowns because many clowns can fit in
one car.
I like clowns. Once when I was at the circus, there were many clowns doing
many tricks. There was a dog with a funny collar and a hat. It barked a
lot, and it had a red clown nose. It chased an elephant. One clown had a
pie.
Mommy made a pie yesterday. It was blueberry. When I told her about my
report on Mexicans, she said that Mexicans probably picked the berries that
went in the pie. My friend Billy says that Mexicans are kind of dirty, so I
hope I dont get sick from the pie. But it was yummy.
Mexicans come to America to get jobs. There are not many jobs in Mexico so
they have to leave. They have to cross over the border to get here.
Sometimes they go and cross when it is dark so the police dont catch them.
I have to cross the street to go to school. Mommy always tells me to look
both ways before crossing the street. I hope they do that too, because they
will get in trouble if they dont. I hate getting in trouble. Mommy doesn
t let me watch Powerpuff Girls when I am in trouble.
Powerpuff Girls are awesome. They save the world all the time. Blossom is
the smart one. Buttercup is tough. Bubbles likes to color with crayons. I
like crayons. My favorite color is blue. I think Bubbless favorite color
is blue too. Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup fight crime and beat up bad
guys like Mojo Jojo. Mojo Jojo laughs all the time and talks a lot. He has
a funny voice. Its funny when they hit him hard.
Sometimes Daddy hits me really hard. He got really mad one time because I
was in the way of the TV. I wanted to show him my new ballerina dance that
I made up, but he got angry because he was trying to watch womens
gymnastics. So he hit me in the face and I fell onto the table and hit my
head. Then Simba (my doggy) put my hair in his mouth and dragged me around
the house. It kind of hurt, but it was really funny too. He pulled me
outside into the snow and then Daddy threw bottles at me. I love Simba. He
s named after the lion in the Lion King.
I miss Simba sometimes too. Mommy says he is in Heaven with all the other
doggy angels. Some mean kids down the street caught Simba once and then
threw him over a bridge over the highway. He had a rope tied to him. He
was hanging on the bridge and cars hit him over and over again. He looked
kind of like a Pinata.
One time I had a Pinata at my birthday party. Mommy tied a blindfold around
my eyes, gave me a stick, and spun me around. Then I swung the stick around
trying to hit the Pinata. I hit a few things that felt kind of soft, so I
knew it wasnt a Pinata. I heard all my friends screaming and Daddy yelling
at me. Then on my last swing I hit something above me and then some stuff
fell on me. I took off the blindfold and saw lots and lots of candy. I
also saw my friend Billy bleeding from his head and Daddy grabbing his
private place. After the party I took the candy and my new toys and went
into my room. One of my new toys was Bubbles! Me and Bubbles and Simba
shared all the candy that I got from the Pinata. I love Bubbles and I miss
Simba. Pinatas are from Mexico.
The End.
