The
name Ten Feet Tall describes an experience I had once after taking some
mind altering substances. The original conception was ten thousand feet
tall but that fell short compared to it's counterpart.
I
wanted to describe the music in the band's name itself, something I
found to be much more difficult than one would think. The music I've
written is at times abstract and other times straight forward, ugly
and other times beautiful. The idea behind the compilation of Drug Induced
Memories (the idea for TFT's first album) was to build something that
would be a complete oxymoron. I wanted the music to be poetic and intriguing,
but ultimately it would bring you to a level of defeat (very much the
same way that the drugs that made me feel ten feet tall had influenced
my life). The sort of play that a dead rose might give to a person's
emotions. Something beautiful that still has romantic qualities even
in death.
My
name is Jimi. I will be taking on the role of vocals/guitar when performing.
Some of the conceptions will be a compilation, but many of the ideas
and recordings are mine. Joel will be the live bassist. The rest of
the band will be updated soon, so will the website.
