Brief History :
Balrog was born in the kingdom of Cormyr to middle class citizens. His parents both died at the same time from some strange illness when he was very young. He was raised by his other siblings, 2 brothers and 3 sisters, all older than him. Nevertheless, he led a peaceful childhood and became a very good fighter, mostly learning it on his own. At the age of 18, he joined the Royal Guard of Cormyr and served as a Purple Dragon soldier there for the required 4 years of service. There, he perfected the use of the long sword and became a specialist using that weapon. At the age of 22, after leaving the Royal Guard, he decided to go off adventuring to find fame and glory. He eventually ended up in the village of Shadowdale, where he met Kiril Threndor and Jimmy, the invoker.
Balrog became the heir to the weapon named Dragonbane after performing the necessary ritual to turn the weapon back from it's evil ways (for more information, check the Return to Shadow Ridge adventure overview). While Kiril is the heart and soul of the Ashaba Heroes, Balrog is the brawn. He cleaves through monsters easily. His specialization with the long sword coupled with his use of Dragonbane makes him a formidable swordsman.
During their adventures in Undermountain, the Ashaba Heroes stumbled upon the Lost Level of Undermountain. There, they met the head of an old dwarven clan. They helped the old dwarven priest to clear out the monsters that were infesting his temple complex. After slaying all of the creatures, Balrog was allowed to be part of the dwarven clan.
Balrog was last seen leaving Shadowdale with his two friends, escorting the Amcathra nephew to Waterdeep. His current whereabouts are unknown at this time. It's assumed he's still with his two friends.
