In looking through my Laughlin notes I think we were in touch a few years ago. I am searching for the parents of Isabell Laughlin who married Williamson Nall. I haven't been able to connect all the Laughlins. I think I mentioned to you before that several married into the Nall family, some married in Williamson Co. and some in Dickson Co. There was a James Laughlin who married Elizabeth Ray in 1810 in Williamson Co.
Here are the marriages I have:
Isabell Laughlin to Williamson Nall in 1832 in Dickson Co.
Lynden Laughlin to Caroline Nall (Williamson's sister) in 1835 in Williamson Co.
Nancy Loflin (sp?) to Andrew Jackson Nall (Williamson's brother) in 1840 in Williamson Co.
Jane Laughlin to Reuben Goodwin in 1832 in Dickson Co.
Susan Laughlin to James M. Tucker in 1832 in Dickson Co.
All of these Laughlins were probably close together in age since several married in 1832, one in 1835 and one in 1840. Also considering the marriage date of James and Elizabeth Ray it's possible they are the parents. This is all assumption though, I haven't found any proof. I haven't found any additional information on James and Elizabeth.
Later marriages in Williamson Co. are:
William A. Laughlin to Elizabeth Inman in 1872.
John L. Laughlin to Mary E. Harrison in 1869. John L. was the son of Lynden Laughlin & Caroline Nall.
A marriage in Davidson Co. - William Laughlin to Polly Edward in 1803.
I don't know if any of this will be of help but the Laughlin family has been one of my brickwalls ever since I started searching for them.
Have you had any more success in finding information on Eliza C. Laughlin that married Samuel Smith, Jr.? Lynden Laughlin and Caroline Nall had daughters named Louisa C. b. abt. 840 and Emily C. b. abt. 1842. It's strange about the middle initial of "C" for all of them?
