TOP OF PAGE De La Salle Alumni Association Toronto Holds Annual Picnic By Jun Borromeo(BSBA'63) On August 13, 2000, we had our 4th Fun Picnic event at Seton Park, Toronto. It was a “POT LUCK” affair and food was overflowing. We just wish that maybe next time we could have a little more of the alcohol variety as researchers had confirmed that it is good for the heart. In attendance was about a dozen families and a few singles. We also would like to welcome Bobby Peralejo and family to Toronto as they had decided to stay in Canada. The other highlight of the affair was the 200 lb. lechon that Sal Torre brought. Although he digested most of it, enough was left over for Manny Tan to take it home to make “PAKSIW”. Corrections, Dolly Tan cooked it. Itong paksiw ay napakinabangan sa future meetings ng ating asosasyon. We were also fortunate that God gave us the best weather conditions and since everybody had a good time, we intend to make next year’s event bigger and better. This was the first golf outing of our Toronto alumni and everyone had a great time. The golf format was a “SCRAMBLE” where verybody had a chance to hit the ball at every instance. Present were Rene Andrda, Mon Syyap, Bernie Bulaong, Bobby Peralejo, Rhett Abarquez, Andy and Dante Torralba, Gary and Manny Sabares, Jun Borromeo, Rudy Montaniel, Joe Luz and Sal Torre. The champion was the group of Rhett, Rene and Bernie. The weather was excellent and although our games in general needed much improvement, the 19th hole made up for the difference. As usual we celebrated the 19th hole at Archer’s Nook. TOP OF PAGE |
