CD Rom drives are very simple to install and understand.

Most computers have at least one CD ROM in it. But it is recommended to have at least one CD ROM and one Burner in your system. The purpose for that is to stretch the life of both drives so you wouldn't use one drive for every thing.

If you are having problems with your CD ROM it might need cleaning. CD ROMs don't really worth fixing it's better to buy a new drive.

If you are installing a new drive and it still gives you problems. Look on the drive it self for instructions on fixing the jumpers in the right positions.

It is also not wise to install a harddrive and a CD ROM drive on the same IDE. On some computers it causes problems.

The CD Drive is mostly used on the slave part of the IDE, and the Hard Drive on the master if you have no choice..
We fix your computer. Or get you a new one.
