9/3/2003 - As I sat at work on Monday night looking at the cute single guys on Yahoo Personals - I made a decision - I'm going to take a risk here and put a profile on! I talked Amy into doing it with me and we are going to take pictures and get our profiles up here someday soon. I don't know about this but I figure it's worth a try, at least we'll meet some new people in Cincinnati, make some friends and who knows what else! I don't know why I decide these things on the spur of the moment and then tell people I'm going to do it, now I have to do it! Sarah has not had much success with her internet dating adventures but she keeps on trying so I figure it's worth a shot - I mean I'm not going to meet a guy sitting in my apartment watching tv - at least I hope not because that would mean he's probably a burglar and that's not really a good way to start a relationship, plus I just don't have the time to visit him in prison :-) So look forward to hearing all about my dating adventures (misadventures?) some time in the near future. What have I gotten myself into! |

9/6/2003 - My foray into internet dating is off to a bad start. Sarah was supposed to take my picture today and help me with my profile and she has not turned up at work. She's two hours late right now and no one has heard from her. I'm beginning to worry that her free truck has broken down somewhere between here and Cincinnati - and since Sarah is probably one of the few people on earth who does not have a cell phone - I am beginning to worry! If you do see this woman, please do not approach her directly - send a cat in - she seems to have a weakness for them!
IMPORTANT UPDATE - Well it has just been confirmed that Sarah has called in sick - call off the search! I was hoping nothing was wrong, we need Sarah to mold Spinsters with Cats into the national, oh heck, global, organization we all know it can be! Can world domination be far behind? Spinsters withs cats of the world unite! Now I'm beginning to wonder, was this all just a cheap ploy by Sarah to ruin my chances at internet love so I stay a spinster forever? Stay tuned....... |

9/12/2003 - In an effort to relax on Sunday before I had to get up at 5:00AM to get to work to take the consultant exam on Monday morning, I went to see Pirates of the Caribbean. An excellent movie with two hot looking guys - what more could a girl want? If I thought pirates really looked like Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom - I would be on a boat right now! I should mention that I have a thing for wet pirates after seeing the pirate/British soldier show at Treasure Island in Las Vegas - it's now closed -a very sad day indeed when I found that out - and to make it worse I had to break the news to Deanna - a fellow wet pirate lover :-( This also brings me to several interesting experiences I have had involving guys and water. First - when Deanna and I went to Disneyland and went on the log ride, I had the misfortune of sitting in the front of the log and getting completely soaked. When we got off the ride, the worker guy said to me "You look good wet" which I guess is a compliment? Perhaps I should move to Seattle where it rains a lot. Then last year as we watched the wet pirates in Vegas - the one British soldier was getting out of the water right by where we were standing and he splashed me - for no reason! Last year during our softball season when we were once again lossing by massive amounts of runs - the one guy on the team says "Hey guys let's have some fun" and proceeds to throw a small cup of water at my face! Number one - he's lucky I did not kick his ass right then and there because I could totally take him, and number two - of all the people on the team - why did he have to throw it on me? What is it about me that makes men want to throw water on me? I don't understand it! Maybe it's a good thing that I'm always hot and sweat like crazy if the temperature is above 70 degrees, apparently I look better that way!
I took Wednesday off and went to see S.W.A.T. - damn Colin Farrell is cute! The movie wasn't bad but Pirates was much more entertaining. I'm hoping to get the results of the consultant exam today but it doesn't look like we will which means I won't know until Tuesday. I think I did okay but I don't know if I passed. Oh well, if I didn't I'll be taking it again in December - when will people learn that you can't keep a Lafferty down! |

9/19/2003 - Well it's still technically a secret but everyone knows - I passed the consultant exam! I don't know my exact score but I've heard I did "very well". Which just proves the theory that you should never piss a Lafferty off! I didn't get the 5 extra bonus points for mock calls before the exam and I told people that I was determined to do so well on the exam that I didn't need the 5 stinking bonus points! I don't think people thought I was serious - I'm very nice and polite normaly but I'm like the Hulk - you don't want to make me angry :-) Nothing else new to report - Sarah took my picture yesterday for Yahoo personals so there's no turning back now! I'm going home this weekend, I probably won't be back in Toledo until Thanksgiving - this year is just flying by. I guess that's all for now. |
