| More of Dana's exciting blog life.... | |||||||||||||||||
| 8/5/2003 - I have been in moving hell this last weekend - everything is finally moved in but still in boxes - I won't be unpacked for awhile - it's all very depressing. But the apartment is great - very good party space! I am surprised Jon Meyer and John Henegar are still speaking to Amy and I after all the hard work they did on Saturday helping us move in. Here comes the story of how Dana was nearly killed by Amy's couch - it had to be hoisted up over the balcony and I went down to help Sean with the couch, then they called him up to help pull - as I was standing under the couch I saw the rope completely slip off the one side and I thought "Boy, I'm really not in a good spot right now am I", luckily they were able to pull it up. Being killed by a couch would be a really embarassing way to go, not to mention pretty painful. |

| I am so looking forward to Vegas, I can't wait to go and relax by the pool for a few days. I saw Colin Farrell on The Tonight Show and was surprised to hear him also express a love for Smarties! I am sorry to hear that Sarah is having auditory hallucinations, especially since we elected her president of Spinsters With Cats! I too am wondering who Spanky is........ |

| 8/8/2003 - Guess who had a little too much to drink the night before her birthday - if you said Dana you would be correct. We went to Elsa's and I had one too many Bad Juan margaritas, living an hour away really sucks when you've had too much to drink. I was fine while we were on the expressway, but once we got off and it was stop and go, it got the better of me and yes, I puked! Only the second time in my life I have puked from drinking, which is pretty impressive since I am now 31 years old. I am so glad I took my birthday off, it was nice to sleep in and not do anything all day. I have uploaded the pictures of my brother's haunted office - if any of you ever watch those haunted places shows on Discovery and TLC - look at the round bubble looking things - they always say those are the ghosts. I didn't notice them until I uploaded the pictures and it's kinda creepy! |

| 8/14/2003 - AV Guy update - well I have given up on AV Guy because I don't think he's interested, which of course has now guaranteed I will see him everywhere. I could go weeks without seeing and I have seen him every day this week! Nothing else too exciting is really going on right now, I'm excited for Vegas. I'm going home this weekend for my birthday and Amy's birthday - which means I will have to unpack enough to find the rest of her gift. As pathetic as this entry is - that's all I've got for today! | |||||||||||||||||
| 8/28/2003 - Vegas in a nutshell. The trip was fun, it was incredibly hot (but it was a dry heat :-)), the hotel - The Excalibur - was cheesy but the room was nice. Saturday we did some shopping at M&M World and the Coca Cola store with Deanna and her friend Jen, and that night was an early night - we went to watch the Bellagio fountain and that was about all Amy and I could stay awake for! The champagne brunch on Sunday was well worth the money, the food was okay, but we certainly drank $12 worth of champagne! There's nothing quite like a champagne buzz at 11AM on a Sunday! We ended up at the House of Blues for dinner Sunday night and they sat us right in front of the stage where Shawn Eiferman (thanks to stalker Deanna for finding out who he was) was performing. Deanna and Amy were quite taken with him, I thought he looked like the Irish guy from The Agency tv show, he did nothing for me personally, but he did a lot for Amy and Deanna! I thought he was very entertaining and he was a pretty good singer. He was taking requests so we requested Barry Manilow - I think he thought we were joking, but we're not ashamed to admit we love Barry! We went to the Venus lounge on Sunday night - it was a cool Tiki bar but there wasn't much happening there, there were only about 10 people in the bar besides us so Sunday was an early night. Monday night we went to Ghostbar Russell Simmons was having some sort of party at the hotel so we got to see Dominique Wilkins in the lobby and two other NBA guys up in the bar, they were really tall, but no one seemed to know who they were, all we got was something about the San Antonio Spurs! Some guy came over and offered to buy us drinks until, in a moment of honesty, Deanna decided to tell him she's an archeologist, and he left. Actually his friend was leaving so I don't think Deanna's taxicab confession had anything to do with it. Sarah will be proud - I went up to some guys to ask them if they knew who the NBA guys were, they didn't know. Amy tried to engage them in conversation but they quickly ran away at the first chance they got, it wasn't like we were hitting on them - they were staring at the guys so we figured they knew who they were. Scary moment when we were flying back into St. Louis, we were just about to land, I mean we were on the runway mere seconds from actually touching the pavement, when suddenly we started to go back up! Now I'm not a huge fan of flying, but I'll do it, and it's always so comforting to see the runway right below and you know you're landing and all is good - and then you start going back up and you think, hmm, this isn't good! It was very puzzling and a little scary - the pilot eventually came on and said that the plane in front of us hadn't cleared the runway and that's why we had to go back up but I'm not sure I believe that. Then when we were going to take off - we were delayed because President Bush was leaving the airport and apparently he has priority or something! The flight attendant did refer to me as young lady so that was a nice way to end the vacation since we were all feeling a bit too old to party like rock stars! |
