RESEARCH INTRODUCTION

With over thirty years of research by James R. Kiker, and over twenty years of research by Richard E. Kyker, I began trying to add to their work and fill in some of the gaps in 1990. They have been very gracious in sharing their work with many researchers and therefore, we hope that by putting some of these results on the Internet, that others will begin to add to the data base, and also hopefully make corrections to what has been recorded in error. It would have been impossible to compile this data without all of those researching this line, sharing their family information, and I appreciate each and every one of you.

It is very easy to insert names when compiling information for our individual family information. These, however should also be noted there is no proof and should be researched further. We hope that some of the information that has circulated can be corrected and be of help to future researchers.

Such as:
1. The Aaron Kyger who some have listed as the father - there is no basis for this to be fact. There was an Aaron Kyger who was listed in the 1771 Rowan County Court minutes, with a Conrad and Margaret being listed as Administrators for his estate. At the time, this information was circulated as being a question of who Aaron was, and COULD he be the father. He should not be listed as the father until some proof has been furnished.

2. Another error noted is the information listing Christian as the father and Elizabeth Lineberger as the mother. Christian was in fact married to Elizabeth in 1789 in Rowan County. Both Conrad and George Adam had been born by this time. It would be possible for her to be their step-mother, but definitely not their mother. Other records indicate this Christian was possibly a brother to Conrad and George Adam. Again - no proof that he was the father or the brother - and needs to be researched.

3. To date, Elizabeth, wife of George Adam, surname UNKNOWN. The handwriting in the Bible of George Adam is not clear and those knowledgeable in German have not been able to make out the last two letters. Until this is solved, we should list her last name as unknown.

Only the early generations of the families will be included here, so as to avoid any reference to living persons. However, questions, additions, and corrections will be most welcome. It is our desire to eventually include any and all of the surname Keicher to this. By researching this surname back in other Countries, it will be interesting to know the origin of the different families. We will appreciate all help in this.

There are many researchers who work on this line, and if you would like your name and e-mail address along with your ancestor added as a link, please e-mail me and I will add a separate list for this. If possible, I will be glad to add any additional information you would like to see included in this site.

I have used the Kinwrite program, written by L.D. Bond, to show each family of Conrad and George Adam, by Family Line, rather than by generations. I hope this will make it easier to follow the individual families.

The intention of Richard, Jim and I in sharing this data with you, is to help in your research. Please enjoy, and let us hear from you. Thanks for visiting and if you have any problems, please e-mail me.
