Information
"Fannasea" is a post blister era Valiant and a perfect
example of a classic Bob Perry offshore design. She is hull #
257 and is one of the nicest classic Valiant 40's to come on
the market in a long time. Her classic V40 lines incorporate
a tumble home stern, bulwarks, dorades, opening ports, oversized
rigging and quality construction make the V40 a modern classic.
Performance has become synonymous with Valiant and is in no small
way responsible for her success. Sail Magazine selected the V40
as the "Offshore Cruiser" of the Decade. The V40 has
taken more sailors on circumnavigations, than any other production
sailing yacht.
Accommodations
& Layout
"Fannasea" is a traditional SE V40 layout that will
sleep 6. Two in the main salon, 2 in double aft berth and 2 in
the forward V-berth. Like all Valiant Yachts, the main salon
settees and the quarter berth make excellent offshore sleeping
quarters. The interior of the V40 is dry, bright, comfortable
and well ventilated with 9 screened opening ports, 4 large opening
hatches, 2 dorades and a mushroom ventilator. Varnished furniture
grade teak is found through out the cabin. Just aft of the V-Berth
on port is a large head with the much coveted separate shower
stall. On starboard are 2 large lockers. Moving aft is the main
salon with large comfortable settees to port and starboard, a
bulkhead mounted drop down teak table for dining, which opens
for a full salon dining table. Aft of the main salon and to starboard
is a proper offshore forward facing navigation station loaded
with equipment. A U-shaped galley is on port with a propane stove/oven,
refrigerator/freezer, dry storage, double SS sink and lots of
storage. Next is the aft cabin to port and lockers to starboard.
"Fannasea"
is in the process of having the mast, rod rigging, turnbuckles,
chainplates and Pro Furl replaced. The mast is being built and
rigged by Valiant Yachts and installed by Deaton Yacht Service
in Oriental, NC. She is loaded with updated equipment, maintained
to high standards and ready to take you anywhere.
