This is a picture of the inocent Leo Frank hanging from the tree which was hung from.
One of the most famous lyning cases ever is the case of Leo Frank. He was accused of murdering a young girl while she was picking up her paycheck. But Leo Frank was not the one who did it. People tried to prove it but it was to late. While he was in jail for a crime he didnt commit an angry mob came into his jail cell and took him. They then went into the woods and hung him on a tree. That was after they beat him severly. But the reason he was lynched was mostly because he was Jewish. That is why every thought he was guilty for the crime. Thats why he never got proved inocent because no one belived him because he was Jewish.
The Case of the Ellensburg Lynching.
The Vinsons, Sam and his son, Charles, had each killed a man. It all started with a brawl at the Teutonia Saloon. "Dutch" John Buerglin had treated his friends at the bar, pointedly excluding Sam, who had neglected to pay back $2 he had borrowed. The two men quarreled, scuffled, then Sam pulled a knife and stabbed Buerglin. In the middle of the fight Charles had rushed into the saloon with a drawn revolver, ready to protect his father. "Get out of here, Vinson," yelled Mike Kohlhepp, one of the proprietors, brandishing a club. He was met by gunfire, but managed to grab Charles and hold him until law officals came and arrested the Vinsons. Kohlhepp died that from his wounds. Two days later Buerglin died and that had fired up the lynch mob. So they decided they were going the lynch the Vinsons. Once inside the jail, the mob surrounded the sherif. Cursing and yelling, the mob demanded the key to the Vinsons' cell. But the sheriff told them that they couldnt do that and decide they would break into the cell. They did this because the mob knew the Vinsons' would never be found guilty if they were put on trial.
