Hello, welcome to David, Kevin and Adams lynching page.
Lynching is when a mob severly beats or kills a person. They could have any reason to kill this person. They will usally do this if someone is accused of a crime and they didnt get in trouble for it. Or even if someone is accused of a crime and they serve time for it and people dont think that person has gotten in enough trouble they might lynch that person. Lynching happend for a long time until about 1968 when it stopped. From about 7,000 people who were lynched about 4,000 of them were blacks. And most of them were lynched because of their skin color. When lynching started people found nothing wrong because every one was doing it. There were lynchings all the time. Families would go watch people be lynched, including small children. Thats why people grew up thinking it was the right to do it. When you think of the word mob you think of a gang, like the Russian mob or something. But what it really means in lynchings case is towns people. Like families with children. And they didnt feel guilty one bit when they lunched someone. But these days people know its wrong even though it still happens sometimes.
