Once the mains were complete, I bolted on the nose wheel bracket.  I used a square to ensure the strut was 90 degrees with the ground.  I used a piece of 0.25" 6061 as a backing plate.  Also, I made some support brackets (the green brackets shown down the page) out of some extra aluminum that I clamped to the upper firewall cross-member until the engine mount is bought/made.
Here is the final product.  I have not bolted the nose wheel pivot assembly to the strut yet.  I will wait to see if any of the strut neets to be trimmed to ensure the plane is level.  You can see the temporary support brackets.
