That's me, Milford, in the middle holding everyone up.
Jayne, Ben, Barbara, Doug, Danielle, and Mike.  Everyone is smiling because we are hungrey and it smells good!
For some reason, these are the only 2 guys I cought eating?  Probably due to the 3 plates I finished before I started taking pictures.
This is the tunnel to the Inn that runs through the large blast way around the South end of the N/S runway.
Due to the blast way there is and extended displaced threshold, and as you can see, people were walking around on the runway with planes landing overhead.  We watched an Aeronca that started to land very short, then realized the threshold was another 3 to 400 yards and we listened to him apply power and give a slow flight demonstration at AGL 8 feet until he barely made the markings.
You could walk up and around the blast way, and this gives you a little idea of the variety of plans that came in.  We brought Pipers, Cessnas, Lake Anphibians, a Lancair, and a Diamond just in our group.  We also saw at least 2 planes with Canadian markings.
This is an example of something I thougth I'd never do.  I'm walking across the runway, and stopping to take a picture of a plane landing over me.  We were parked at the end of the blast way, and it is an uneasy feeling not being able to look and see if anyone is on final at an uncontrolled airport when you pull out tho take the runway.
After eating, you could take a carriage ride around a little bit of the estate.
