I grew up in the town of Homewood, Illinois and have lived there all my life.  To give you an idea where I live, I am located in the south side suburbs of Chicago about 15 minutes from the city of Chicago.  I have two older sisters who are 28 and 29.  My sister Lisa got her specialty degree in school psychology and Laura is an occupational therapist.  My mother is the secretary of an English department at a city college in Chicago and my father is a retired electrician.

     Growing Up

Growing up, my family took many vacations from Hawaii, to California to the Bahamas.  My parents always liked to take us somewhere new so we could see different sites around the world.  I have only been out of the country twice, once to the Bahamas and another time to Mexico.

My parents also own a camping place in which our family would go to on the weekends.  It is a fun place to relax, go fishing, hiking and make campfires.  We recently had the place remodeled so I plan to make many more trips up there.

   School

Starting in elementary school, I played the Viola and continued it for 6 years.  My older sister had played the same instrument so naturally I took interest in it.  I was also very active in after school sports as well as earning good grades.

Junior high came along and I started to take more honors classes and participated in honor societies and joined the volleyball team.  I became more active in orchestra by setting social activities for both band and orchestra.  Junior high was a fun time for me because this is where classes began to differentiate and I had new challenges.

I attended Homewood-Flossmoor from August 1994 to May 1998.  I had a whole new set of challenges from broadcasting class to Spanish class.  In my sophomore year, I discontinued orchestra because I decided to focus more on my studies.  Orchestra was also going in another direction than where my interest was at.  Starting my junior year, I took a cooperative education class to start getting experience in the business world.  By senior year, I had taken enough summer school to be finished with high school in December of 1997.  Instead, I elected to continue the cooperative education program and was able to leave school early to go to work.

After high school, I attended the community college of Prairie State College.  I had received a student trustee scholarship that paid for my tuition.  I had to perform several activities from fund raising to graduation work as service to the scholarship fund.  I also joined Alpha Beta Gamma in where I participated in raffles and fund raising events.

I started Northern Illinois University in August of 2000.  I was somewhat familiar with the campus because this is where my sister Laura had gone to college years before.  I was fortunate that I had several friends that also attended NIU that would later turn out to be very important people in my life.  At Northern, I joined several groups: American Marketing Association, Sigma Iota Epsilon and Beta Gamma Sigma.  I built the website for my fraternity, SIE, and also gained acceptance into the Golden Key International Honor Society.  I enjoyed NIU very much and academically, I had found it very pleasing.  Every semester I continue to be on the College of Dean's list.

I recently started Graduate School at NIU to attain my M.B.A.  Things went well in summer school  and this past fall semester went relatively well.  I took 3 classes and earned two A's and one B.  I will be starting the Spring 2003 semester shortly.

Hobbies

I enjoy pretty much anything and everything.  I like to go fishing, road trips, camping, playing sports, Starbucks coffee and trying new things and activities.  I am fond of the electrical environment because my father was an electrician.  I understand electricity well and always try to fix an electrical problem first and I experiment sometimes too.  I like to listen to all types of music from oldies to alternative to classical.  Movies and reading are activities that keep me well occupied.  Computers are also a big part of my life because computers can do so much for you if you learn to use them correctly.  I also like to travel and hope to take a back packing trip in Europe sometime soon.
