Hello everyone! Well, I'm back in Holland again.. I thought it'd be extremely bizarre but nothing has really changed and it's surprisingly easy to get used to things again. Already I can't wait to go back to Toronto though. I still have to book my flight and it looks like it's gonna be difficult finding a cheap ticket, which really sucks. Let me tell you guys a bit more about my trip though. Quebec was really nice, very cozy and 'gezellig'. Haroon and Nina were there in the beginning but both of them left, after which I started hanging out more with this Australian girl called Nat (Natalie). We ended up going to this art museum together (I didn't even know I actually enjoyed art museums, but there you go!). The abstract stuff was really awesome. I was tempted to take pictures of it but unfortunately it wasn't allowed. Walking back from the art museum we passed these battlefields, where apparently a very gory and bloody battle took place with the British. It is now a big park with loads of people just sitting there or playing sports, it's really beautiful. A really strange idea though that a lot of people died there. After walking back downtown we had a drink on a patio right opposite the Chateau Frontenac, which is an absolutely gorgeous hotel (see below).

I left Quebec City on the 19th of May, taking the train back to Montreal. I freaked out when I arrived in Montreal, because Sarah, this friend I know from Oman, was supposed to pick me up and she wasn't there. So there I was with about 45 kg worth of luggage on my back and my stomach, contemplating whether I should just try to find a youth hostel (it was 10 PM-ish) or go to her house, but I knew she wasn't going to be there as I had tried to call her. I asked a guy behind the counter if he could call out her name which he did, but no one showed up. Luckily, after 20 minutes, Sarah came running through the door yelling how sorry she was but that she lost her way (and she's 'only' been living there for 3 years :) ). So fortunately enough I did have a place to stay. Unfortunately enough both Sarah and this friend that was also staying over were both feeling sick. So apart from shopping we didn't do very much. I met up with some other friends from Oman though, which was really cool. And on the last day I met up with Nat, who incidentally was also in Montreal (and was also going to New York), and we went jetboating.

The jetboating was awesome, but so cold! The waves were up to 4 m high! They gave us suits (2 per person) but they couldn't keep us dry at all. We might as well have jumped into the river, it wouldn't have made a difference! Right after jetboating I had to hurry to catch my train to Toronto. I arrived in Toronto at midnight with my hair still wet, went to the hostel and fell asleep pretty much straight away. It was the weirdest thing to be back in Toronto, especially when the day afterwards I had to go to my former house to pick up some stuff from Roos' place. My name sign was still on my door, my shampoo still in the shower, and still some food in the fridge! Very bizarre.. Luckily I didn't have too much time to think about it (seeing the spot where Suk and I said goodbye was very depressing), I took the metro and the bus to the airport and I was off to New York!
