Introduction

Imagine an ancient place in an ancient time. A world just like ours, at a time when huge battles and incredible legends where normal, everyday things. Imagine a town without any present technology, where human beings live together with fantasy races such as elves, dwarves and halfings coexist. Imagine that wizards and magic really exist, as well as great and legendary dragons inhabit far away caves... Now imagine you are an inhabitant of that city, a pennyless being used to all the aspects of that kind of life. You've lived your whole life listening to stories of incredible treasures to be found in far away dungeons, lost knowledge from ancient civilizations long gone, and fame beyond your imagination. One day, seduced by them, you decide to move on from your miserable life and face the world outside your home town. You gather some clothes, whatever money you have, a sword, and begin your travels...

If you can imagine this, you are ready to engage yourself in a AD&D and D&D game. The game lets you explore whatever world you've born into, lets you decide what to do with your life. Every player in the game pretends to be an adventurer, who lives either by his sword or by his magic. What will be of that adventurer is up to you, for no one else will decide his actions.

Imagine that you get together with with some friends. You tell them some legends and stories you've heard about undertaking dangerous quests, about earning money and fame, as an adventurer. You ask them to join you on your travels to seek all that which the tales speak of. Imagine that your friends decide to travel with you, to aid you, protect you, and to become rich and famous together.

That is the first step of every game. There must be a group of players, recommended at least 3, that be willing to create an adventuring party with whom to travel accross the land. From then on, the game will rely upon the interaction between those players' characters. Will they find what they seek? Who knows, maybe they do after all...or maybe the tales are lies?

To play the game, you'll first need to find a place to sit and have plenty of space. You'll also need pencils, rubbers, lots of paper, and a few dice. The dice you'll need are 4-sided, 6-sided, 8-sided, 10- sided, 12-sided and 20-sided, at least one of each. The dice are reffered to as d4, d6, d8, d10, d12 and d20 respectively. You may need to use 100-sided dice too, just use one d10 as the tens and another for the units. Once you have all the necesary stuff, you can begin your adventures.

Now that you've had a short introduction to the game, it's time we move on to how we play the game.
