Shy FX & T-Power: Set it off LP |
The long awaited album from Shy FX & T-power. It has a total of 9 tracks on it, and most of em are vocal and pretty laid back tracks, but there are a couple of harder tunes on there as well. First of all, the Dillinja remix of "Don't wanna know". This is just absolutly massive. It just has it all; the bassline, the beats, the vocal, Everything! Another more dancefloor orientated track is the dancefloor remix of "Feelin' U". A real great tune as well, also with a vocal and everything a good dancefloor smasher needs. The rest of the album is not that hard-on as these do, but every single one of them is just a quality track. This is just one of those albums that has it all.

Unknown artist vs Christina Aguilera - Dirty (DNB Remix) |

Great remix here, the vocal and melody of "Dirty" over some fast and furious beats. Plain wicked. Side A features the entire vocal, where side B has only parts of it, but with an even harder breakbeat.

CONCORD DAWN - Morning light/Check this sound |
Awesome release from Concord Dawn on the Timeless label. Morning light is an epic tune which will move the crowd again and again. Laidback vocals backed up by a smashing bassline and rushing breakbeats. The flip is not really innovating, but still good dancefloor material. It does feature a cool lead synth, but overall just not as exiting as the A side.

This 12'' features bad company in good shape as usual. Both sides are simply good quality tracks. The two do not differ much from each other and they won't really surprise you either. Even so this one won't let you down, as it might not be something different, it just sounds good!

SHY FX - Shake ur Body (Future Cut/Digital&Spirit remixes |
These Shake ur Body remixes do not really improve the original, they're not bad mixes, but just don't really bring a refreshing vibe into the song. The mix by Future Cut is somewhat more darker and less jump-up style, the one By Digital&Spirit features a cool breakbeat with uplifting hi-hats but not much more than that. Future Cut and Digital&Spirit can do better.

Deep Blue v.s Ms Dynamite - The helicopter tune (bootleg) |
Not a very interesting release. It's the new Dynamite single "Dy-na-Mi-tee" over the Helicopter tune from Deep Blue. Not much more than that to be honest, so this is quite dissapointing. It does sound okay, and Ms Dynamite feels good with dnb breakbeats, ofcourse.

Sonic&Silver/Accidental Heroes - Can u feel it (rmx)/Bezerk |
A good one here from Science fiction recordings. Can u feel it features perhaps not an original, but definitly a punching bassline. It's a natural roller with all the ingredients to become a good crowd-mover. On the flip we find Bezerk which is a nice tune as well with a catchy melody. Not groundbreaking but good stuff nonetheless!

Technical Itch - The Ring/Think [PENETRATION 5] |
Another one from the Penetration series, Starting with "The Ring". It starts with a pretty dark intro and just when the breakdown arrives and you expect complete madness with thumping basslines and heavy breakbeats, a rather dissapointing beats sets in which stays more or less the same for the rest of the song... on to the flip then! This one is better than "The Ring", also starting with a dark intro but this time keeps the vibe going. This is mainly because of the good lead Synth, but the breabeat also does it's job nicely. Overall not a really smashing release. Nice try but better luck next time! (Big ups for the Massive sleeve though, you may not buy this for the tunes, but you might consider putting it on your wall!) 6

THE HARDER THEY COME (2cd) Mixed by Grooverider |

This double cd album is a compilation of Hardware artists featuring the likes of: Future Cut, Tronik 100, )EIB(, John B, Usual Suspects etc etc. Even though the mix is not flawless it differs from all the other mixes that are around, at least you can hear it's done live. The tunes on this one are good and variated, there's something for everyone. Also check out the great artwork on the sleeve, this will probably persuade you to buy it even if you didn't really listen to it (it happened to me!).
Overall a very good release which will not let you down.
