On Baffin Island
I'm a Canadian teacher and Venturer advisor, who spends as much time as I can in the Rockies -- hiking, canoeing, cycling, and caving. I'm the Advisor of the 24th Park Allen Venturers (a fine group of young men), a member of the Alberta Speleological Society, and an elementary School teacher in Edmonton, Alberta. I try to make my summers active ones. In the summer of 2000, I hiked on Baffin Island with a friend, cycled the Olympic Penninsula in Washington with my Venturers, and helped survey a small cave in Mt. Robson Provincial Park. We spent Spring Break, 2001 in Moab, Utah, mountain biking and hiking in the desert there. What a break from an Alberta winter! That summer we did a 117 km long canoe trip in BC's Bowrons. It was a great trip. Later, some friends and I spent a week in South Dakota, caving. Wow!
Dennis and I flew to Baffin Island in 2000, to hike in Auyuittuq National Park Reserve -- a rare treat, and very different to the Rockies we are both used to. Seas of ice, enormous cliffs, tumbling glaciers and numbing streams -- this park has it all -- except trees! What an experience!
On our cycling trip in Washington Andrew, Aaron, Sean, Aaron, and Crispy.

My Family
I was born, raised and educated in Lethbridge, Alberta. I'm really proud of my parents, who still live there. My dad was a successful business man, and held his commercial pilot's license until recently. My mother, who is now calling herself "Cyber Granny," is a master of bridge, salads, family dinners and literature. My son, Tim, lives in Kingston, and my sister, Judy, works as a college administrator. Rob, my brother, ably manages the business my dad built.

Yes, it's cluttered and way too busy, but after all this is my first web page, and things can only get better -- I hope!
