What is scratching? Its basicly rubbing the reacord back and forth. Troughout the years, so called ''Scratch Dj's'' Have developed a new way to creat and manipulate sound/music.
They have created trix and technics, that takes time to practise. Its like a gitar, or drum, you can manipulate any sound, and creat a whole new branch of music.
