Drosera scorpioides f. gidgegannup is a giant form of the common scorpioides : it measures 5cm in its diameter (but it's still a pygmee !!!!!).

Like any beginners (and cruel), we put a fly on a trap of our first pygmee Drosera. And we decided to describe the capture (at least the murder will serve sciences)
Here is a description of the capture by Drosera scorpioides f. gidgegannup :

The fly (even if that was not its desire) is put on a wonderful leaf, and it's already possible to see a reaction : the tentacles fold onto the poor insect
.

In less than a minute, the leaf is already folded to allow the maximum number of digestive glands to be in contact with the insect.

The leaf is now completly folded and has start to secrete enzymes to start the digestion process.
