SALVATION

Little puppy,
Soft and white,
You are precious
In God’s sight.

Curious puppy,
Gone astray,
You left His house,
You disobeyed.

Hungry puppy,
Why roam the streets,
Digging through trash
For rancid old meat?

Runaway puppy,
Please come back.
Your coat is now stained
With blotches of black.

Terrified puppy,
You hide in the night.
You’ve broken His heart,
And forgotten His light.

Miserable puppy,
Soaked to the bone,
You shiver through storms
In cardboard shack homes.

Abandoned puppy,
Facing death.
Will no one hear
His final breath?

"help!"

Ransomed puppy,
Redeemed from the grave!
Your Shepherd now battles
Through cold driving rains.

“My dear precious puppy,
I’m making you right.
Come home with me now,
Step into my light!

My dear precious puppy,
Now that you’re free,
I’ll put you to work,
I have some fellows in need.

My dear precious puppy,
You’re coming with me,
Now sit here and wait
By this evergreen tree.”

"yes, Lord"
