is for Ambulance, and for Alarm and for Air and for Axe.
B is for Beagle, like my pint-sized apprentice named Max.

C is for Chief and for Candy, and Chocolate peanut Cups.
D is for Dog and Dalmatian, my favorite kind of pup.

E is for Edwards and Engine, and the Everyday heroes we all love and trust.
F is for Fearless and Firemen, and Station Five’s Fancy new Fire-Fighting truck.

G is for Gustav-Augustus, but you can call me Gus instead.
H is for Hoses and Hydrants, and a Helmet for your Head.

I is for Immanuel Incarnate Word Church, where Chief takes me to Sunday School.
J is for Jesus. There’s Joy in our hearts when His love there does rule.

K is for Kitten, caught like a Kite in a tree.
L is for Ladder, the best way to set Little cats free.

M is for Matches, and please oh please,
N is for Never. Never, ever play with these!

O is for Obedience school. Oh! Just to say it hurts my head!
P is for Preston, who took me to a baseball game instead.

Q is for Quickly, it’s best to
Rapidly Rush to a Rescue.

S is for Spotted. Specifically, I’ve got Seventy-Six Speckles and Spots.
T is for Temper. Typically Chief’s, like when I get hoses all Tangled and Tied up in knots.

U is for Uniform, Chief wears a badge and some bars on a button-down shirt.
V is for Vanilla cream with chocolate chip, my favorite and fabulous frozen dessert.

W is for Water. Without it, our hoses Won’t swell.
X is for X-tinguish. Hey, I never said that dogs could spell!

Y is for Young Dalmatian, riding a bright shiny truck with a dozen red lights.
and Z is for Zebra, a brilliant white horse bearing big bold black stripes.
