The man
DJ Velly is a one-man show. That man is Josh McLean, a current college student with a passion for music that fueled him to start making it and never stop.
The Music
DJ Velly began writing original music in 2001 after having spent several years playing with Noteworthy Composer, a MIDI sequencer. He learned most of his music theory from this experimentation and the occasional bang on the piano. It wasn't until four years later, 2005, that he became (somewhat) serious about studying piano and making real music. He discovered FL Studio in late 2006 and hasn't looked back since.
DJ Velly has been strongly influenced by Scooter and Rammstein as they have earned a key role in his music library since the new millenium rolled around. In the past few years he has paid close attention to the hardcore scene, including artists such as Darren Styles, DJ Bluecore, and Hixxy. DJ Velly has always loved the work of Ronan Hardiman and Yanni, but only recently discovered Gandalf, an excellent artist in the same vein.
