Episode II: A Reunion

There was an explosion in the heavens. Some described it as merely thunder, others as an "earth-shattering kaboom!" Either way, it was very loud. About fifteen angels were tossed from their resting spots on clouds and thrown down to the earth below. Something at the Happy Souls factory had gone awry, and God wasn't very pleased about this. But since it was his dear friend Puttynut that had left the soul burners running for too long, he wasn't very bitter. The angel, Frank, knocked on Puttynut's apartment door up in Heaven. Within seconds Puttynut had opened the door. "Yes?" he asked.

"Monsieur Puttynut, there's been an accident at the Factory. And word says it was your fault. Something about soul burners and overheating or something, but that's not why I'm here. Well, alright, it is why I'm here because if the Factory hadn't exploded, I wouldn't be here. Anyway, God wants to have a word with you." Frank clicked his heels, pivoted, and was gone.

A meeting with God? Puttynut thought, I should bring crackers! And so he did. He made up a nice little box of crackers and went off to see God. When he got there he could tell God wasn't very happy. "Puttynut," God began, "I like you. I do, but I don't like when you blow up my Happy Souls Factory. You should be fortunate that your boss, Timothy, is on a weeklong vacation in Santa Fe right now. You should be unfortunate, though, that I'm sending you back to Santa Fe."

"Is this because of the explosion?" Puttynut asked.

God had a new dumbfounded look on his face, "Of course it is! It's also because Santa Fe needs your help. The Fabulous Five must become five again. I know Tyrant will never return, but there is someone else waiting there that can take his place and prove to be quite helpful. Satan's Army of Hate is almost ready to begin attacking the city again." God looked around for a moment and then pulled an angel out from under a shroud. This angel had obviously been spying on the meeting. "Frank!" God shouted, causing more thunder down in Santa Fe.

"Y-yes, O Heavenly Father?" Frank stammered.

God looked at Frank in disappointment. "You've been spying." To this, Frank nodded. "Well, I can't have you going around telling people about this secret meeting between Puttynut and I. So I've got a better plan for you. You will go with Puttynut. You will watch over the Fabulous Five, keeping a close eye on them. If something bad happens, come and let me know."

"Yes, Father!" Frank stood in salute. God waved the two of them off, and a hole broke in the clouds beneath their feet. Down and down they fell until they landed in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Nobody was around. It was close to midnight now. Puttynut peered up at the hole in the clouds. He had never known that God's throne was placed directly above Santa Fe.

When morning broke, it didn't take long before Puttynut and Frank were discovered by Baltor. "Puttynut!" he squealed, "I must take you to Sasha's apartment at once!" So that's what he did. He grabbed Puttynut by the halo and dragged him to the apartment. Grace was quite pleased when she answered the door.

"Come in, come in!" she exclaimed. By this point, Frank had discovered a safe height where he could float above their heads to keep his eyes on them. It seemed to be working for him.

Sasha entered the living room from the kitchen where she had just been cleaning up from breakfast. "Puttynut! Baltor! What a pleasant surprise! There's so much we need to catch up on..."
