Palmistry

Line of Mercury

Samudrika Shastra calls it the Arogya or Swasthya Rekha. Western palmists call it the line of health or the Hepatica (concerned with the health of the liver). Palmists do not agree on its origin or its effect. But the experience of the present author is that this line indicates the sharpness of intelligence or his business sense. It originates from the Mount of Venus, or the Line of Life, the Line of Saturn or the Mount of the Moon and it terminates at the Mount of Mercury. A clear, well-defined line indicates intelligence and good health. A broken-up Line of Mercury is an indication of indifferent health and confused thinking.
Line of Mars

Some palmists believe that it is a line of influence of the Mount of Venus. It is a parallel line within the Line of Life. If it is very near the line of life or if it is very deep it indicates the extent to which a person is subject to fits of anger. If it is away from the Line of Life the person is likely to be of an equable temper. It also indicates the state of marital relations. It originates from the Aggressive Mars, runs parallel to the Line of Life towards the Mount of Venus and terminates at the wrist or the Mount of Venus.
Line of Sun

This is a subsidiary of the Line of Saturn. According to Samudrika Shastra it is called variously as the Dharma Rekha, the Vidya Rekha and the Punya Rekha. It starts from the wrist, the line of life, the line of Saturn or the Mount of the Moon. It inclines towards the Mount of the Sun. This line indicates the success of one's efforts, whether in the acquisition of wealth, politics, a court case, travel or a love affair. A person gets his heart's desire at the time of its coming on the scene. We shall deal with estimating the time when we come to the part of the book where we recap what we have written in this part.
