Like many other children from the Sliema area, in summer I was a regular (everyday) visitor to Sliema Pitch. Others went to Exiles and Neptunes..but who cares! I had no choice from the beginning since my family was a member of the club. Back then there were two main families at pitch - the Saliba family and the Scott family. So Basically there was me & my bro Richard, cousins Kevin & Clint, and the Scots: Junior, Keith, Conrad, Matthew and Andrew. You should watch us play 'Harba' at Ghar id-dud, which reminds me of another great old friend - Karl Borg.
By the age of 13, new people started coming to pitch and our group started taking shape. 10 years later we're still strong. Our triumphant waterpolo team comprised of Edward, Clint, Keith, Pierre, Andrew, Laurence, Mark, Matthew, Junior, Kurt, Karl, Cain and myself. Later Cikku joined our ranks. Also in the group were my cousin Kevin and Suda. If I had to carry on the list, I will go on for ages as pitch was the place to be.
On the 26th of February 2000 we all met at pitch, in memory of our beloved Cain, who had passed away a week earlier. There we could remember a few things which we had done over the decade - Going out, wars, campings, Gozos, arguments, girls that had come and gone..you mention it - we've done it! |

Besides Sean, Spatalu, Reuben and Amanda I hardly meet anyone from my 6th form friends, so I'll go straight to Uni. Two gentlemen in the form of Giggs and Daniel, our first 3 years flew and we got a B.com extension to our names. Special mention to Lorna for all the good fun we had together. To Honours we went, and the girls kept coming -Donna, Marisa, Claire and Ylenia (wait till they read this!) I dont know if it's out of jealousy but i'm leaving Peter out of this. Special mention to Miriam and Buttigieg. Finally, thank-you Ivan for your continuous support and friendship. |

A Special Friend |

Louena - we hardly spent enough time together, but we make sure we meet every now and then. I always say that if it wasn't for her in many things I wouldnt have got where I am. She'll always have a special place in my heart, and I wish her every luck in the future. She deserves it. |
