ENGINE CLAIM

  1. $625.00 (U.S. Funds) cash claim on engine, $25.00 of this goes to wrecker for pulling engine. After inspecting claimer’s engine, Claimee has option of swap in lieu of claim fee. Claimee will also receive $100.00 swap fee from claimer. $50.00 of the fee goes to wrecker crew for pulling engines. Once claimee invokes swap option, claimer will be subject to same rules as Claimee in outright buy scenario.

  2. Claim does not include

  3. Accusumps; Bellhousing, Headers, Carburetor, Carburetor adapter; Clutch, Clutch arm, Clutch ball, Dip stick, Distributor, Fan and pulleys, Flywheel, Fuel Pump, Motor Mounts, Oil restrictors, Plug wires, Pressure Plate, Sending Units, Starter, Switch for oil pressure, Switch for water pump, Throw out bearing, Water pump - Must furnish plugs

  4. First three position finishers (except feature winner, who may proceed to winners circle) must report directly to claim area and are subject to engine claim by any other driver finishing 4th thru 10th in feature. Failure to report directly to claim area will result in disqualification and loss of money and points for first infraction and will be treated as engine claim refusal for second infraction (engine is still claimable). Any driver lapped by the fourth place car is not eligible to claim. Driver allowed one claim ONLY per event, regardless of outcome of that claim.

  5. Driver making claim must drive racecar immediately and directly after finish of feature, under its own power in racing condition, directly to claiming area. Only drivers and officials allowed in claiming area.

  6. Claims must be made to track official immediately after end of feature race. $625.00 cash, along with valid D.M.S. racing license card must accompany declaration of intention to claim. Claimed engine must be completely removed within one hour from time claim is made and driver agrees to sell claimed engine.

  7. Only driver may claim engine and only driver may agree to sell or refuse to sell engine. First "sell" or "refuse to sell" by driver being claimed is binding.
  8. Promoter may claim any engine. Swap option does not apply. Prompter claim supercedes any other claim.
  9. First refusal to sell will result in loss of all points to date and all winnings and awards for that event. First refusal will also result in driver being suspended from ALL events for three weeks or $750.00 cash fine paid to Dixie Motor Speedway. Fine must be in the form of a cashier’s check or money order and be received in the D.M.S. office prior to driver returning to competition. Second refusal to sell will result in loss of ALL points and all earnings for that event. Second refusal will also result in driver being suspended from ALL events for six weeks or $1,500.00 cash fine is paid to D.M.S.
  10. All claimed engines must be removed from car at the track; buyer must examine engine before removal – once removal is started sale is final. Claimer must supply lift plate.
  11. The cylinder block may not be altered in such a way as to prevent it from being used in a stock application. Stock OEM components must be able to be immediately used in their stock location. Drivers are to be held accountable for any sabotage discovered while pulling the engine, and will be responsible for any and all penalties as a result of any sabotage. Any sabotage to claim will result in driver being suspended from ALL competition for 30 calendar days and until $1,000.00 cash fine is paid. The claim will be disallowed and the money returned to the claimer.
  12. No driver may claim more than two engines during current season.
  13. One additional claim will be added to any driver for every claim after being claimed twice.
  14. No driver may claim unless they have competed at the track the two previous A-main feature events of current season.
  15. No one driver may claim any other one driver more than once during a season.
  16. A disqualification to the Claimee will not affect a legal claim. The engine will be pulled and transferred prior to any penalties being assessed.
  17. In the event of multiple claims on the same engine, a "draw" will occur after post race tech.
