TECH - All entries are subject to any inspection at any time. Any controversies, changes in rules, etc., or anything not covered by the rules shall be ruled by D.M.S. officials and will be final. Any driver protesting an official D.M.S ruling must do so in writing before payoff begins for that division. Otherwise, decisions are final. Protest forms are available at pit window & pit board. Drivers failing tech will pass tech before next competition. 2nd offense will result in one week off. 3rd offense, 2 weeks off, etc.
DRIVER & CREW -
1. Any driver or crewmember suspected of being under the influence of intoxicating beverages, drugs, etc., will be suspended and removed from the premises. The DRIVER is responsible for his entire crew. NO drugs or Alcohol allowed. Immediate suspension will result!
2. Pit crews are not allowed on the racing surface with out authorization. This will result in immediate disqualification and/or suspension.
3. Any vehicle whose speed has been reduced to a point where it has become a safety hazard will be disqualified. (excessive speed in pit area will result penalty)
4. When the caution is displayed you should be aware of the car number in front of you so that races can be restarted quickly.
5. No driver shall get out of their car or stop on the racing surface to settle a grievance w/officials or other drivers. Immediate two-week vacation from racing will result.
6. You must attempt to start & complete your preliminary event to retain your regular feature starting position. In case of mechanical problems you must consult an official.
7. If you want to be paid, all driver changes after qualifying must be reported to an official prior to the start of event. If a car starts a race with a driver other than the person that qualified it, it must start on the tail.
General Rules - The rules and/or regulations set forth herein are designed to provide for orderly conduct of racing events and to establish minimum requirements for such events. These rules shall govern the conditions of all Dixie Motor Speedway events, and by participating in these events, all participants, guests, drivers, owners and staff are deemed to have read and understand these rules. Interpretation of or deviation from the rules is left to the discretion of the presiding officials.
In the interest of fair, safe, competitive racing, these rules are subject to change by track officials, with an adequate notification period. New rules, regulations, policies and procedures from time to time as is necessary for the conduct of race events.
No express or implied warranty of safety shall result from publication of or compliance with these rules and/or regulations. They are intended as a guide for the conduct of the sport & are in no way a guarantee against injury or death to a participant, spectator, employee or official. No driver, car owner, mechanic, or participant shall have claim for damages, expenses or otherwise against promoter, track owner, Sponsors or any of its officials, by reason of disqualification, or damage to either car or driver or both; and car owner, driver, mechanics and participants agree that the track is in safe condition if they take part in racing activities.
Anybody found guilty of the use of mercury or any other contaminated material will be barred from speedway for life.

DRIVER & CREW-
POINTS AND WINNINGS
Registration - Speedway headquarters will assign car #’s. Annual fee for car owner/driver for LM & Mods-$35, FS driver/owner-$30; Fig. 8’s driver/owner-$30, SMT driver/owner-$20 ea. Drivers are limited to one car per class per program. You will receive a driver/owner card license. You must present your driver/owner I.D. card in order to claim any winnings.
Five point type harness mandatory including crotch strap.
Belts must be date-coded within the last five years & a min. of 3" wide.
Mounting subject to approval.
Aluminum seats mandatory. No fiberglass!
PRACTICE (this is a privilege, not a right)
Registered drivers may make a reservation for Wednesday practices, D.M.S. schedule permitting. There is a nominal charge for practice. Practice begins at noon. All cars must be loaded & ready to leave by 6 p.m. unless prior arrangements have been made. Drivers must call in advance to make an appt. or will be charged an ad’l fee. (24-hr notice is recommended) All minors must have current minor releases filled out by parent or legal guardian (every year) to enter pit area. (NO EXCEPTIONS)
Slabs – Slabs are $150.00 with driver car registration. If you rented a slab last year - you have first option to rent it in 2002. However you have until Jan. 31st, to put payment on your slab. After that it is first come, first served.
