BATTERY - One battery only. Must not be located in driver’s compartment. Must be securely mounted to structural member. Battery disconnect switch behind driver seat, mandatory.

BODY SPECS

  1. Bodies must be neat in appearance.
  2. All cars must have steel or aluminum interior.
  3. Aluminum or fiberglass body parts allowed (except floor pan).
  4. No coffin/dirt type interiors. Strictly enforced.
  5. No angled or wedge-type bodies.
  6. Rear quarter panel width must gradually taper from body width at tires to the width at the rear spoiler. (No straight quarters with an abrupt kick-in just before the rear spoiler) .....……………………………………………… …….....max. 72"
  7. Rear spoiler: Height- 8" from front side including curl. Width- 72" max.. Must be centered. Clear Lexan ONLY. Triangular Verticals only, 18" max. length. Not to extend beyond bumper.

  22. Driver must be separated from engine, fuel cell, & oil systems by a metal firewall.
  23. Rear of car must be enclosed. Panel min. 12" High. Measured vertically.
  24. No louvers, springs or hinges in rear deck lid or back panel. Must be solid & flat.
  25. Stock-type nose must remain in tact as produced by the manufacturer. No modifications, widening or narrowing. Max. 30 degree angle. Measurement will be taken in 3 places.
  26. Front windshield and rear window are mandatory, 1/8" min. Lexan, NO PLEXIGLASS! No concave or radical type windows. Round type rear window must make a uniform radius. No offset teardrop. Subject to track approval.
  27. Right front window or post, to edge of body.……………………..………….max.4"
  28. Rear bumper must be as wide as quarter panels and extend at least 3" back for push truck clearance.
  29. Any car that appears TOO RADICAL may not be permitted to run. Subject to track approval.

BRAKES - Disk brakes ok.

BUMPERS - Bumpers in stock location, reinforced from behind, all reinforcement must be hidden. Ends must be capped.

CAR CONSTRUCTION – All cars will be built in a safe, workman like manner. Subject to track approval. No driver-adjustable devices, except brake bias, allowed.

CAR NUMBERS

  1. Numbers with a color contrasting with that of the car will appear on both doors, numbers will be 18-in. high with a min. 2-inch stroke. A 6-inch number will appear on both front & rear of car. Driver’s name will appear over both doors in 4-in letters.
  2. Car number must be on upper right corner of windshield in 6"-stroke.

CARBON FIBER COMPONENTS - Not allowed.

CARBURETOR–INTAKE - Aluminum or cast iron intake. No cutting or welding. 1-inch spacer allowed. Stock 500-CFM Holly 2 BRL part #4412 with 1-11/16 maximum base only. NO ALTERING. Choke horn may be removed.

CLUTCH

  1. Stock or multi-disc clutch allowed- 5.5" Dia. minimum.
  2. Stock clutch must be equipped with safety bellhousing, or scattershield.
  3. 2 " inspection hole in bottom of bellhousing or scattershield, mandatory.

DRIVE SHAFT

  1. A metal strap is to be located in the forward 1/3 of the driveshaft to prevent it from dropping to the track.
  2. Drive shaft must be painted white.

ENGINE

  1. Stock-type automotive engine. No aluminum heads or engine block.
  2. Max. 360 C.I.D. Max. 12.5 : 1 Comp. ZERO TOLERANCE
  3. Roller Rockers allowed, no other roller components allowed.
  4. Stock-type cast iron heads only. Aftermarket heads allowed.
  5. Ground to centerline of crankshaft - 10" min.
  6. Forward most spark plug must be in line with ball joint plus or minus 1 inch. No tolerance.
  7. Single stage external oil pump system allowed.

EXHAUST

  1. Exhaust must exit behind driver and remain within and underneath body panels and be directed downward towards track. No part of the exhaust system may pass through driver’s compartment.
  1. Mufflers mandatory. 98 DECIBELS MAX. STRICTLY ENFORCED

FRAMES

  1. Stock and tubular frames allowed.
  2. Tubular front clip must be of 2" x 4" x 1/8" material, minimum.
  3. Minimum frame and body height from ground- 3" min.
  4. Upper A-frame mounts may be changed to accept tubular upper A-frames.

FUEL CELL

  1. FUEL CELL MANDATORY. Must be securely mounted to frame. Fuel lines will not pass through driver compartment. Subject to track approval. No filler tubes.
  2. Ground to bottom of fuel cell will measure 8" min.
  3. No electric fuel pumps.

HUBS – Wide-5 hub, ok. Heavy-duty lug nuts and 5/8" wheel studs mandatory.

IGNITION

  1. Battery-operated ignition systems only. No crank trigger, No multiple coils.

MIRRORS - Not allowed.

RADIATOR

  1. One radiator only. Catch can for overflow (or) overflow tube at center of windshield in clear view of officials.
  2. Water is the only coolant allowed.

REARENDS

  1. Floater-type rearends mandatory. Quick-change rearends ok. Steel axle tubes only.

ROLL CAGE

  1. All cars must have center roll-cage made of DOM seamless tubing -minimum 1 3/4 O.D. with a minimum .095 wall. Roll cages will be gusseted and braced front and rear. Minimum of 4 door bars on driver’s side - 2 on passenger’s side.
  2. All bars around driver’s head must be padded with roll bar padding.
  3. All cars are required to have 1/8" steel door plate 24" x 24" on the driver side and 12" x 18" kick plate to protect drivers legs.

SHOCKS - SPRINGS

  1. No coil-overs. Screw jacks are permitted
  2. One shock per wheel. May be moved from stock location.
  3. Minimum 4" diameter spring- rear. Minimum 5" dia. Spring- front.

SHOCK CLAIM RULE

  1. $200 shock claim rule per wheel
  2. Only drivers competing and finishing feature event are eligible to claim or be claimed.
  3. Claim must be made immediately following feature event (within 5 min.) to track inspector.
  4. Refusal to sell shocks will forfeit all points and winnings for the night.
  5. Promoter has right to claim shocks and supersedes all claims.

SUSPENSION

  1. Stock front lower, tubular upper A-frame allowed. A-frame must be in stock position.
  2. Rack & pinion, ok.
  3. No Electronic or Hydraulic Traction Control Devices. No hydraulic trailing arms. Maximum- one spring-loaded rear suspension device only.

TIRES – Hoosier Sportsman

TRANSMISSION

  1. Stock-type automotive transmission only. Racing transmissions allowed.
  2. No internal-clutch transmissions
  3. Transmission cooler must be in engine compartment.

WEIGHT RULE

  1. 56.0% max. left side, 50.0% max rear weight with driver after race.
  2. Minimum car weight 2850 lbs. after the race, with driver and helmet.
  3. All weights painted white with car number painted in contrasting color. Any weight found not painted white, with car number, will be disqualified. Weights will be anchored with (2) ½"dia bolts minimum.

WHEELS-Any steel wheel- 8" max.

WRECKER HOOKS - Eye bolt or cable to bumper or frame, front and rear. Must be Visible.
