| The remaining days went by in a haze and suddenly it was Sunday morning, time for Eulinda to go back to school. They stood in the driveway together. My mom says Dumbledore thinks that nothing will come of we saw, Eulinda looked around. But just in case something happens, I want you to have this. She handed Amethyst a wand. Its one of my moms old wands. I know you can use this. Im surprised you arent in Hogwarts. Anyway carry it with you and if anyone pulls a wand on you, swish and snap and say Expelliarmus. Then run and tell my mom. Okay? Amethyst nodded and hugged Eulinda. Goodbye, Lindy. Amethyst said Have fun at Hogwarts. Eulinda got in the car and drove away with her mom. Amethyst walked in and took a shower. Her mom her an extra week before starting school back. Her first Monday, her mom stopped math early and announced that they were going shopping. Really, Mom? Amethyst asked shoving her books and work aside. Yes, really. Her mom laughed. Now go get our purse. Amethyst ran upstairs to her room. Her purse was sitting on the drawer by the wand that Eulinda had given her. This was the first time that Amethyst had left the house since the incident and wasnt quite sure if she should take the wand with her. Surely nothing would happen after so many days had gone by. Still, the wand made her feel more secure, so she stuck it inside her purse and ran out to the car. Her mom drove around until they found a street lined with interesting little shops. Her mom said that they would meet back at the car in thirty minutes. Amethyst wandered from shop to shop but couldnt shake a strange feeling that someone was following her. After thirty minutes, she met her mom at the car and for the ride home listened to her mom ramble about what she has bought. When they reached home, Amethysts feeling intensified. They had just climbed out of the car when her mother screamed and pointed behind Amethyst. She turned and saw a man pointing a wand at her. She pulled out her wand and yelled Expelliarmus! as a green light hit her. I dont think that was supposed to happen. She thought as a tickling sensation traveled through her body and her vision blacked out. |
