| Chapter 2: The Concert "Why did you follow them out here?" a voice came from behind me. I jumped and then turned around to look.It was Taylor and from behind him came Isaac. "Because they were my ride home until they decided it was my fault they were obsessed." I was about to cry. It was almost show time for cryin' out loud, and I had no way home. They both looked stunned or amazed..or maybe both.. "Are you related to them?!" Isaac asked. "The blonde one was my sister..."I nodded as I trailed off. "We'll take you home..." A voice came from behind Isaac. It was Zac, "I already asked, Mom said it was okay...well, it's okay as long as you don't try to kill us. By the way, what's your name?" "My name's Brighid. Nice to meet you." Seeing there faces I explained, "Irish ancestory on my dad's side. Gotta love it!" "Well, c'mon you can have a backstage seat so that we don't have to get you out of the crowd to take you home." Zac said taking my arm and leading me to a place off stage. I sat through the concert and sang along, happy that I had stayed. After the concert, they rushed off stage and back to a wadrobe room where they showered and changed. While I waited for them to come out, I talked to Mrs. Hanson about what type of schooling I had had, what classes I was taking, and whether I thought home school or public school was better. "Well, right now I'm in 8th grade. I am taking Geometry, French 1, Latin 1, Gifted Language Arts & Science, and social studies. I also participate in Orchestra and an after school singing choir." I said "Really?" She asked," What do you think the advantages of public school are?" "Well, you meet more people, you get to have more then one teacher a day, and you get to have group projects with different people. You have a feeling of camaraderie with your classmates. But then again, there is a whole lot of stress that I don't think would be there if you were in a familiar and comfortable setting, such as your own home, and were taught on a one-on-one basis."I said. Just then Tay and Zac came racing up to us. "Dad says it's time to go!" They yelled in unison. Mrs.Hanson looked at me and laughed. "You see what I have to put up with?!" She said standing up and taking my hand. It felt lovely to be able to talk to someone older then me without orders and degrading remarks being made. "But you know you love it!" I laughed following after them, holding hands with Mrs. Hanson, feeling as if I belonged with this wonderfully talentented family, but I knew that I wasn't. Then, we got on the tour bus, and I suddenly realized this incredible night was about to come to an end..... Chapter 3 Return To The Hanson Story Index Return Home |
