Sharp
shooter Stewart aims to gun down Addicks
On a professional level Marcus Stewart will have been
disappointed with the weekend results but his personal target
is still within his grasp. The Premiership's 19-goal top
scorer admits to keeping tabs on his nearest rivals for the
Golden Boot and while Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink and Thierry
Henry failed to score, wins for Arsenal, Leeds and Liverpool
have increased the pressure on Ipswich ahead of Monday’s
match at Charlton.

Roma-Lazio: Castroman's last minute equaliser maintains
suspense
Juve had drawn 1-1 with Lecce, Totti was fit to play, and the
Olimpico was Giallorosso from hosting the derby. This was
surely going to be Roma's night of glory. A win and the
scudetto was all but theirs. It took Roma five minutes, in the
second, to fly away with Delvecchio adding to Batigol's
opener. But never giving up, Lazio reduced the score through
Nedved, before Castroman equalised in the final seconds. Juve
can now reduce the gap to three points with a win over Roma
next week. mai

Blackburn
on the brink of Premiership return
Blackburn moved a step closer to promotion back to Premiership
with a 3-1 win over Portsmouth in their final home game of the
season. But Bolton are still in with a shout after a battling
display against Barnsley ended in a 1-0 win for Sam
Allardyce's men. At the other end of the table Crystal Palace
lost 2-0 at home to Wolves leaving them perilously close to
the drop, and costing boss Alan Smith his job, whilst
Portsmouth, Huddersfield and Grimsby are not safe yet.

Moya mistakes hand Barcelona title to Ferrero
Juan Carlos Ferrero won an almost unbearably tense Barcelona
Open final 4-6 7-5 6-3 3-6 7-5 on Sunday, edging out fellow
Spaniard Carlos Moya thanks to two agonising errors in the final
game. As an epic match between two outstanding clay- court
players entered its fifth hour, Moya, serving at 5-6,
double-faulted to give Ferrero his third match-point and put a
simple overhead into the net and let a match he had appeared to
have in his grasp slip away. mai
