Chapter Four
Drowning in You

. . . The field was soaked in the sweet, thick crimson liquid. Blood covered her hands. Two corpses lay in the field of white daisies. One of them she had murdered on her own, and the other had been murdered by someone else. But who? Who else was here with her? Her beautiful blues looked down upon the corpses to catch a good glimpse of them. One of them looked exactly like her, but with a darker shade of aquamarine hair. The other resembled her former lover, Yamcha.

Now, she understood what had happened. She had killed Yamcha. For what purpose did she do it, though? So many questions seemed to plunder through her mind. She needed answers. The bloody handed angel fell to her knees and began to sob violently. What had she done? What had possessed her to do something to someone she had loved so much? The melody of sobs had began to increase and become slightly louder. Maybe, if she cried hard enough, someone would hear her.

Standing in the most obscure part of the field was a man that felt a twinge of misery. The sound of violent cries began to flood through his mind. His first instinct was to turn around, and he did. Through obsidian eyes, he could see a gorgeous woman kneeling there. She reminded him of the other no good girlfriend he used to have. The mysterious figure could tell there was something different about this one. Unbridledly, he began to move towards her. Upon reaching his destination he grabbed the woman's frail wrists and pulled her to her feet.

His emotionless onyx orbs glanced deeply into the sapphires glistening with tears. Some forbidden emotion he had banished from his heart had resurged and taunted him to just hold the beautiful fallen angel. Without realizing it, he had complied to his heart's wishes. The burly arms of the mysterious man had gently embraced the unusual beauty. He had buried his face into her sweet scented hair as she sobbed violently against his muscular chest which only adorned a black sleeveless muscle shirt.

The woman felt like she had met this stranger before. He had briefly looked into her eyes, but the stare had been very deep. In that matter of moments, she had learned a lot about him. Like, he was not one to show very much emotion from the apathy that had cloaked his beautiful gems. It felt good just to cry so hard and at the same time feel a strong sense of security in the arms of a stranger.

"Bulma." The man spoke her name. He didn't even know how he knew it. It had just come to him naturally.

She stared oddly at him for a moment, before a natural instinct penetrated her own thoughts. "Vegeta." She responded. Still, questions were racing through her mind. How did they know each other? Their bodies were telling them that being together was right. Was it possible that they were lovers?

"You don't have to cry anymore. I will make the pain go away." He seemed to slap himself mentally for saying that to someone his mind hardly even knew. Although his heart seemed to know her very well.

"Ha! No you won't." A loud, booming voice interrupted their moment. They barely had a chance to look and see who it was before they had both been stung by the sharp tips of metallic arrows which pierced their hearts. The last thing they heard before the scenery went blank was "You are finally rid of your weakness, Vegeta."

The both of them seemed to be falling endlessly into a zone of white that swallowed them whole. Each landed in a pool of extremely thick, dripping crimson liquid that tasted similar to iron. In a moment, they had recognized the liquid they were bathing in. They were bathing in each other's blood, slowly succumbing to the liquid which dragged them under it's surface to rid their bodies from existance. . .

Chapter Five
In the eye of an emotional storm

Vegeta awoke with a loud and angry roar. Why was this happening to him? Why were all his thoughts and dreams being plagued by this mysterious, yet beautiful woman? Why was his father reappearing in his dreams, living only to torment his soul and his existance? The last thing he needed was more misery added to his life. He had enough of that as a child. It was time for the pain to disappear. He was sure that the woman could help the pain fade from his aching heart. The saiya-jin was positive that he was the key to making Bulma's fear fade from her, as well. The only thing that lingered in his mind now was how he was going to face her after dreaming something as intense as that.

Bulma awoke in a cold sweat and looked carefully around the room. She couldn't take this much longer. She was going to confront Vegeta about the dreams. The young genius was going to spill her heart out to the man who she had only known for at least a day. Delicate fingers grasped hold of the satin quilt that covered her and pulled them away. The beauty's glimmering sapphires caught a glance of the beautiful, intricate designs of Vegeta's room. Everything was onyx satin, even the window curtains. The paint on the walls was a medium gray. It was obvious that Vegeta was a caliginous, surly person. The fallen angel had been oblivious to Jouzii's whimpering and scratching at the door. With an angry gust of wind, the door was opened.

Vegeta had heard the scratching of Jouzii and growled. Didn't the woman have any sense to let his dog out? He opened the door and snapped, "Are you trying to deprive my dog of going to the bathroom?"

"No. I'm sorry, I was lost in a day--"

"I don't care if you were in a coma! Next time she scratches at the door, you let her out!"

They succumbed to silence at that moment. Bulma had quietly followed Vegeta out into the living room and just watched in a sullen manner as he let the dog out down the fire escape exit. He took a deep breath before muttering the word, "sorry."

She had barely heard him, but she did. "For what?"

"For yelling at you, like that. I'm not a very patient man."

The heiress to Capsule Corporation seemed to smile at his sudden sincere attitude. Although she liked his sincerity, the bad boy attitude was preferable. This was the only chance she had to ask him about the dreams that she had been having. "Vegeta?"

     "What?"

     "It's just... oh... nevermind."

"Woman, I never told you my name. How do you know it?"

Either way, he was going to find out now. She might as well get it over with. "I heard it in a dream, and when I met you... I just knew that Vegeta was your name."

     "What kind of dream?"

"Well, the first dream... I was thrown from a cliff, and my throat was slit. It was you, and someone who looked like you. I assume he's a relative of yours. Before I plummeted to the ground, I talked to you. I said your name. In the second dream... that time I knew it was you. You said my name, and I said yours. You promised me that you could make all my pain go away before--"

"Alright. I've heard enough!!!" Vegeta shouted at the beautiful woman with tears threatening to spill from her eyes. She would not cry in front of him. He seemed to notice that she was a strong, independant woman. They were endearing traits of her personality. "Why is this happening? Why are we having the same dreams?"

"You mean... that you have them, too?"

"Yes, but I probably have them ten times more intense than you do. The first dream you described, when I found you in the field.. I mourned for you. I actually cried. I never cry, woman. The man you saw in your dream, was my father. I've always hated the bastard. If there was only some way that I could get rid of him, for good."

Sapphires glanced downwards until she could no longer control the urge to just hug the man she was beginning to fall in love with. With swift steps, she walked infront of him since his back had been to her. The woman's delicate arms reached out and wrapped around his neck. She buried her head in his chest and began to mourn for the hard life that the mysteriously, dark, handsome man had lived.

Vegeta gently lifted her head and stared into her tear glazed eyes. Even when she cried Bulma was gorgeous. He was afraid that this was all a dream and he'd wake up and be without her. In a whisper, he said, "Don't deny me what I crave, woman."

"Wha---" She was going to ask him what he was talking about before his tender lips captured hers. Bulma was even daring enough to deepen the kiss and embrace his sweet tongue with her own. It seemed to last for an eternity, but in reality, it was only a few sweet moments. When Vegeta pulled away, her cheeks were completely flushed and her heart was pounding in her chest. A gentle hand rested on Vegeta's chest and she could feel his heart pulsing fast, also.

Vegeta had never once in his life felt an emotion quite as strong as the one that he was feeling now. It was just like the emotions that he had felt in his dreams. If she were his destined mate, he would have to keep her away from his father at all costs. One of the best ways to protect her was to never bring her to his planet. The prince had tried to forget that planet, since that's where his past was swept away and left behind. He wanted nothing more to do with Vegeta-sei, and he'd love to keep it that way. 'If only I knew what these emotions were, then I could be able to tell you how I feel, Bulma. I promise I will keep you safe. I will make your pain go away. I just can't tell you that. Not yet.'

Bulma had thoughts racing through her own mind. For some reason, she felt incredibly safe in his arms. It was almost as if she was shielded from the world, and herself. 'Why do I feel like this? I thought I loved Yamcha, but I never felt anything like this while I was with him. Perhaps those dreams do mean something. Does that mean I'll die? No. Vegeta will save me. I know he will. I don't know how I know... I just do.'

The two young fated lovers were so wrapped up in each other that they seemed oblivious to the loud knocking on Vegeta's front door.

Chapter Six
I'm falling in love with you

Bulma was the first to snap back into reality and hear the loud knocking on the door with a feminine voice shouting on the other side.

Vegeta came back to reality a few seconds later and then looked down at Bulma. He let go of her and then opened the door to see Marron standing on the other side. What the fuck do you want, whore? He questioned his ex-girlfriend.

Marron glared at Vegeta and then looked past him at the other blue haired girl standing in the middle of his living room in nothing but a t-shirt and boxers which she assumed were Vegetas. Im not even gone one whole day and you already have another slut warming your bed. Thats okay. Youre not that good, anyway.

You wouldntve noticed it. You were too busy screaming other mens names. Vegeta glared a death glare at the blue haired hussy that stood in his doorway.

Bulma clenched her fist and growled. SLUT? Who the hell are you calling a slut? Vegeta, where the hell did you pick up a hussy like her?

Come to think of it, Bulma.. I dont even remember.

Marron growled and then registered the other womans name in her head. Bulma? Wait a minute, was this THE Bulma Briefs of Capsule Corporation? Now she had to find out. Excuse me, are you Bulma Briefs?

Bulma narrowed her eyes and responded, Yes. I am.

Her eyes widened in shock as she just realized she had been insulting the greatest woman in the city. Oh my gosh. Im so sorry. Please forgive me.

Vegeta growled. He couldnt stand the sight of his ex anymore. Its a little late for that. Get out before I call Jouzii in. He watched the ignorant blue haired woman run away and hopefully out of his life. The saiya-jin closed the door and grunted and apologized to Bulma. Im sorry you had to meet that bitch. He looked into her beautiful sapphire eyes and then thought of something that he had been meaning to ask her. How do you know Kakarot, woman?

She seemed confused for a moment on who he was talking about but then she quickly remembered that Kakarot was Gokus real name. Oh, Ive known him since I was merely a little girl. I met him at the age of nine in a park that my mother used to take me to. Of course he was five years old at the time. I always thought of him as a little brother, so we kept coming back to the park on the same days and then as we got older we just started hanging out together more often. I told him how I used to dream about my prince charming and then he had kept mentioning to me that he knew an arrogant saiya-jin prince, and I always said that I didnt want a guy like that. Now look at who Im with. The heiress to Capsule Corporation smiled up at Vegeta with her eyes sparkling under the light of the room.

Vegeta smirked and decided to tell the woman his story. Kakarot was from Vegeta-sei, the home planet of the saiya-jin race. I knew Kakarot since he was a baby. The first time he started talking to me was when he was three. On his fourth birthday he was sent to this planet to purge it, but since he bumped his head it never happened. Im surprised he even remembered me. I didnt come to this planet until I was fifteen. Then I met Kakarot again a couple months after I had come here. Ive been talking to him ever since then. He always talked about you, woman. Always saying how wed be perfect for each other. Obviously Kakarot was right. He, once again, smirked at the fiery vixen that was leaning against his chest and snuggling with him on the sofa.

Bulma looked into his deep raven eyes once again and got closer to kiss him but then the tune of 'Milkshake' by Kelis rang on her cellphone. She growled and ran into Vegetas room to search through her pocket book for it. She finally grabbed the disturbance and clicked the talk button and snapped into the phone. WHAT?!

Yamcha was on the other end of the phone and was surprised by her tone of voice. Uh... Hey Babe.

Oh. Its only you. Whats up?

Your father is going crazy looking for you. Your company is having a very important business meeting today and youre supposed to be there. Im at your house right now. Where the hell are you?

Look.. You remember when I told you I was going out on a date? Bulma cradled the phone closer to her ear as she walked out into Vegetas livingroom and sat down on the couch next to him.

       Yeah, I remember. Perfectly.

Well. Im still on that date, Yamcha. Can you tell daddy not to worry and that Ill be there in half an hour.

Oh. Youre still with.... him? He seethed with jealousy.

Bulma chuckled and then responded, Yeah. Dont worry, Yamcha. Youll always be one of my best friends, okay? She smiled gently.

Yeah yeah. I know. Ill see you in a little bit, okay?

Yep. Bye Yamcha. She clicked the end button on the phone and tossed it down on the couch and took a deep breath. Once again, she looked back up at her beloved saiya-jin prince. My father needs me for a very important business meeting. I have to go. She grabbed her phone and got up and got changed in Vegetas room. She came out a few moments later sporting the same outfit that she had worn the previous night. Bulma noticed that Vegeta had gotten up and was slowly walking towards her. His lips came crashing down on hers and they shared one of the most passionate kisses that they would ever share as lovers.

Vegeta pulled away but kept his face close to hers with his hand resting upon her delicate cheek. They had both kept their eyes closed. The prince spoke which made his breath tickle Bulmas lips. I want to see you again. What are you doing tonight, woman?

Bulma just loved all the things he was making her feel. It had never been this way with Yamcha. Then again, her ex-boyfriend wasnt short, dark, and handsome. He also wasnt from a different planet or from a race with a long line of warriors. Im booked for tonight.

Oh. He sighed, seeming almost depressed. He turned away with the same old scowl painted on his face. Then he felt the woman hug him from behind with her hands running over his well-defined chest.

Every little piece of my schedule for tonight is reserved for you. She stated. Then her lips left a trail of kisses on his shoulders and the back of his neck. She smiled against the back of his neck which sent a shiver down his spine.

Vegeta turned around and pulled her close to him. His nose nuzzled her neck and inhaled her scent. He whispered into her ear, Ill pick you up at 6:30.

Oh. Wait a minute. I promised Goku and Yamcha that Id go to the arcade with them. Goku is stopping by at 6:20 and then were going. If you can stomach being around Goku and my ex-boyfriend for about an hour, youre welcome to come. Just come with Goku, or something. Okay?

Alright. It doesnt sound that bad since youll be there. If any one of those bakas bother me, I am going to ring their necks. Understand?

The aquamarine haired goddess giggled and replied, Alright. Ill see you later Vegeta. She walked over to the door and opened it. Before she walked out of it, she happily said, I love you, Vegeta.

Chapter Seven
Engulfed by brainless idiots

Vegeta couldn't dare to watch Bulma leave. He simply looked emotionless while staring at the couch as she left. Before he heard the door close he had heard those precious words. He closed his eyes and let the sound of the words ring in his head. The sound of distant barking broke his concentration. The prince simply shook his head and walked over to the door and let Jouzii in. A slight smile creeped its way on his face. The dog was the only one he could handle admitting his feelings to. A sigh escaped him as he sat down on the couch and just silently waited for the time to come.

1:45 PM at Capsule Corporation.

Bulma had just gotten home after leaving Vegeta's house at 1:30. She walked through the front door where the main level of the building was. The lab and the security room was located on this floor. The woman behind the front desk greeted her like always. She thought she should take the right turn and go to the lab to see if her father was there, but instead she took the left turn into the stairway. Casually the beauty walked up the stairs to the second floor and opened the door that led to the dining and family room. Her mother was sitting on the red velvet couch reading a magazine.

Bunny looked up from her magazine to see her amazingly lovely daughter walk through the door. A smile graced her features and the incredibly noisy mother had to ask how the date went. Hey Bulma, darling. How was your date?

Absolutely wonderful, mother. I havent known him for long but the emotions I felt while I've been around him.. they're not anything like the other emotions I had when I was with Yamcha. It's so weird. I'm practically in love with the guy, mom.

Bunny chuckled and replied, Maybe you know him from a past life.

A past life? Did her mom actually believe in that kind of thing? Mom.. You actually believe in that stuff? I suppose I can't judge anything since you never know what is for real and what isn't. Maybe you're right, or maybe I'm just confused. Did I really tell Vegeta I loved him? Well, if I'm here I know I didn't imagine it. Well, if this isn't love then I don't know what the hell is. Bulma went down the hall to her room to go and get changed for her fathers business meeting. After she got changed into her black business suit, she went into the living room to meet Yamcha.

Her ex-boyfriend rose to his feet and greeted his ex-girlfriend. Hey, youre finally here. Your father is downstairs in his office waiting for you. Everyone is waiting in the meeting room.

Thanks, Yamcha. Maybe she could ask him a personal question. Hey, Yamcha? Can I ask you something?

Sure. You know you can always ask me anything. He smiled happy that he was still friends with Bulma.

Right. Silly me. Uhm.. How do you know if youre in love?

Well.. gee Bulma. I wouldnt know. Ive never actually been in serious love. Its always just friendly love. Thats one question that I dont know the answer to. Hey, maybe you should ask Goku. After all, he has been with Chichi ever since he was twelve years old. Yamcha paused and then looked down at his blue haired companion. Wait. Are you trying to tell me you feel something strong for that... um.. guy?

Bulma contained her anger for just a second and then shouted, His name is Vegeta! The heiress calmed and continued, Yeah, I guess. I mean its kind of weird. Its like he brings out a part of me I didnt know existed. I just feel so good around him. Yknow? Suddenly she realized that they were outside the meeting room. Anyway, I invited Vegeta with us tonight. I hope you dont mind.

Of course not. I mean, its not like I have to feel threatened by this guy or anything. All I want is for you to be happy. If he makes you happy, then Id say go for him one hundred percent. Ill see you tonight. He quickly gave her a friendly kiss on the cheek and then headed down the hall towards the exit of the building.

The young woman chuckled softly as she went inside the meeting room to come face to face with the other people that she had kept waiting. She quickly said her apologies and sat down to listen to what they had to say.

2:15 PM at Vegeta's Apartment.

Jouzii? Jouzii, where the hell are you? Vegeta called for his dog in the kitchen. He stormed out into the living room to see the dog peacefully resting on the couch. He growled at the animal and then turned back into the kitchen to fix up something to eat. It was still a while off until the date. He wished that it would come faster.

3:20 PM at Capsule Corporation.

Bulma sat bored as ever in another one of these stupid business meetings. Just as she was about to fall asleep something about Vegeta-sei made her wide awake. She had heard the most important part of the speach that one of the guys from the space company was making.

...The King of Vegeta-sei said he wanted to land here next week. Said he was looking for something of very important value to him. I wonder what the hell he was talking about. His offer sounded reasonable enough. I wanted to make sure to inform you first, though. Do you think we should let him come?

Bulma stood up furiously and screamed, NO! I do not want him coming to this planet. Its a very complicated reason. You wouldnt understand. Just make sure he does not come to this planet. I dont care if you have to put up a barrier! He is NOT coming to Chikyuu-sei. Unless my father wants to be foolish enough to put his only daughter in serious danger! Everybody was looking at her oddly but she didnt care at the moment. She hoped they listened to her, so that she could protect Vegeta, and herself.

The president of Galaxy Corporation looked on in shock at Dr. Briefs daughter. After recovering from the shock, he held a straight face. What on Chikyuu-sei are you talking about Miss Bulma? There would be no harm in letting him land here. Perhaps you are just paranoid that since he is an alien, that he will harm the people here.

She did not like this moron standing infront of her at all. Isnt anyone listening to me? LOOK, I know what the King is looking for. Im not telling you because it isnt any of your business. You just have to trust me. Daddy, Mr. Uchuu, please.

Dr. Briefs stood up and looked at his daughter with serious-ness and concern. Im afraid that I have to say no to your objection, Bulma. I dont see why you would think hed harm anyone here. He signed a peace treaty with Chikyuu-sei. There is nothing to be worried about, dear. Everything will be just fine.

NO! NO! NO! NONE OF YOU WILL EVER UNDERSTAND! ALL YOU THINK I AM IS A CHILD! WELL, IM NOT! With that shouted, she ran out of the room with tears streaming down the silk skin of her cheeks. She had to warn Vegeta. The young woman didnt want to die. Not when she could have a long life ahead of her with the only man she had found happiness with. Nervous hands fumbled through the pocket of her jacket and grabbed her cellphone. She had to call Yamcha to get things off of her mind. The phone rang on his end until it he picked up. Yamcha! You have to help me!

Yamcha could tell by the sound of her voice that she was crying. What happened, Bulma? Whats wrong?

Vegetas father is coming next week. Hes the King of Vegeta-sei. A neighboring planet in our solar system. Mr. Uchuu said that he was coming here in search of something. That something is Vegeta. Those dreams I had, they were about Vegeta and I being killed by that bastard. I dont know what to do. I need guidance. She cried uncontrollably into the phone. It was good to have someone to confide in.

Calm down, Bulma. Well talk to Vegeta tonight. Then well see what he has to say. Remember, you have friends who care for you, Bulma. We would never ever let anything happen to you. Try not to worry about it right now, okay?

Ok. Thank you, Yamcha. I dont know what Id do without you.

Well, I have to finish getting ready. Ill be there soon. Please just try to relax and keep yourself calm. Bye Bulma. Take care of yourself.

Bye Yamcha. She heard the click of the phone and quickly shut hers off. With a deep sigh, she leaned against the wall outside of the lab. Now it was time to relax and get ready to spend time with her three favorite boys.

5:00 PM at Vegeta's Apartment.

Vegeta had begun to get ready. He couldnt help but get the feeling that something was wrong. Something was terribly wrong. As for now, he ignored that feeling and continued to get ready.

5:45 PM at Capsule Corporation.

Bulma had gotten ready in an hour and a half. The only thing that she had to do for now was watch television. She sat in silence for a whole fifteen minutes watching nothing but commercials on nearly every station she flipped through. Figuring it was hopeless to find anything to occupy herself with, she turned off the stupid thing and walked outside on the balcony. The fresh air always helped to calm her nerves. Yamcha was right, she shouldnt be worrying about things like that right now. The blue haired angel sat out there for a whole twenty minutes just silently admiring the stars that decorated the darkness of the sky.

6:05 PM at Vegeta's Apartment.

Vegeta got up and got out of the house. It was time to head over to Bulma's. He wouldn't dare arrive with Kakarot. He could wait a little longer to see him. The saiya-jin prince didn't feel like putting up with the baka's idiocy at the moment. Unfortunately, he was going to have to do so later.

6:20 PM at Capsule Corporation.

The three boys all arrived at the same time to see Bulma sitting on the hood of her car. A smile graced her beautiful visage. They all seemed to stare at her for a moment. She was the first to break the silence. Are you three going to stand there and stare at me all night or are we going to the arcade? She laughed as they all walked towards her. Vegeta was smirking at her. That smirk sent shivers down her spine.

Yamcha laughed and shouted, IM DRIVING!

Bulma glared daggers at him and snapped, OH NO YOURE NOT! YOU AINT DRIVING MY CAR. I would trust an old man behind the wheel of this car before I trust you behind it.

Cmon babe. I dont drive that bad.

Hmph. Bulma was still glaring at her best friend.

Alright. Fine fine. You win. Yamcha sighed in defeat.

Goku just noticed that Vegeta was there. How could he have been so stupid not to notice him before? Then again, his mind was a little slow. Hehe. He ran over to Vegeta and put his hand on his shoulder and then greeted the older saiya-jin. Hey Vegeta!

Ill give you three seconds to remove your filthy hand, third class baka. If you fail to do so, Ill remove it in a more painful way. He smirked triumphantly when Kakarot removed his hand from Vegetas shoulder. I knew youd see it my way. Nobody touches the Prince of Saiya-jins. Especially not a low level.

The third class warrior just silently shook his head and sighed in defeat. Vegetas ego was just too much for him.

Bulma jumped down off of her car and pranced over to Vegeta, happily. She bravely kissed him on the cheek. It earned her a nasty remark.

Do that again in front of Kakarot and you wont live to see tomorrow.

Bulma playfully mumbled, grouch, and giggled afterwards. She handed the keys over to Goku and then got another comment from Vegeta.

Thats a bad choice, woman. Letting Kakarot drive. He probably drives worse than scarface over there.

       HEY! My name is Yamcha.

Do I look like I give a damn? He was growing more impatient with each passing minute. Here, give me the keys. Ill drive. With that he took the keys right out of Gokus hand and unlocked the driver seat door and got in. Bulma got in the passengers seat while Goku and Yamcha had to sit in the back. He quickly started the car and pulled out of the driveway. Little did Vegeta know that once they got to the arcade that Yamcha and Bulma were going to tell him the tidbit about his father coming to Chikyuu-sei. He was in for a big surprise.
