. . .It was cold and pitch black in the center of the dreamer's heart. There was not one trace of light within the obscure oblivion. He would continue to walk along the path in his mind until everything became bright.

The scenery changed, and he was suddenly in a peaceful field. Beautiful flowers scattered, and the blue jays and cardinals were gracefully singing among the tree tops. Eyes of obsidian would catch sight of a dark cloud swarming in the distance. Curiousity would bring the shadowed figure to head for that direction. As soon as he arrived he wished he didn't bother to come over.

Blood. Everywhere. A field of daisies were covered in it. The crimson liquid tainted the purity of the flower. There, at the end of the field lay a body completely drenched in blood. It almost made him sick to his stomach. The smell of rotting flesh lingered in the air. Worst of all, the body bathing in blood was a woman's.

She had long aquamarine tresses that looked as if they flowed to the small of her back. She also had soft, white skin and there was no doubt that she was beautiful. A stained knife lay next to her body. A thin red line was traced across her throat. Her once colorful, bright eyes had faded to a ghostly shade of white.

A tight knot formed in his stomach and water threatened to spill from his eyes laced with melancholy. Why did he feel as if he had to cry for this fallen beauty? Why were these foreign emotions taking control over his body? Why was this woman so important to him? What connection did the two have? These questions began to flood his mind. He felt he would never ever get the answer to them.

He knelt down and reached towards the knife, gently picking it up and bringing it dangerously close to his chest. Something was just about to happen until the image in his mind flashed a bright white again. When it cleared he was standing on top of a mountain staring at an image of himself, and the girl who had been dead in the field.

Tears were streaming down her cheeks and her eyes were bloodshot. His replica faded and then he was in the position that the image was. The emotions of the replica took over and a knife appeared in his hand. He fought an inner battle and pushed the woman off the cliff, but fell down and grabbed her hand, trying to save her.

Those beautiful blue eyes glanced lovingly into his and a soft whisper tainted his evil soul. It was her voice, full of question and anger, but also love.

"Why Vegeta? Why are you doing this? Do you not love me, anymore? I have been nothing but good to you. Can't we have one more chance?"

In a flash, he was back in his spot and the image had come back, in the same position he had just been in. He was holding on to her tightly, trying to bring her back up over the edge. Then that image turned into his father. A sickening laugh reached his ears and he heard his father speak.

"I'm getting rid of your weakness, my son. There's nothing you can do to save her. She will be dead before you know it, and you are powerless to stop me. You always were a failure. You failed to become the legendary, you failed at beating Frieza and you let that third class weakling surpass you. You've also failed to protect your mate from me. I will kill her and then your soul will be mine again. I will have to brainwash you all over again, what a pity."

As soon as he tried to move, something shocked him and made him fall to his knees. His father slit her throat and plunged the knife through his mate's heart and dropped her from the cliff. Tears spilled from his eyes as he cried for the very last time, before the scenery in his mind went black.

When the ebony faded, he was back in the field next to the body of his mate. The stained knife in his hand and hovering above his chest. Just as the cold steel touched his warm flesh, everything ended. The scenery faded and he let out a long fierce cry of the word "no."

Chapter One
Awakening from a Dream

       "Nooooooooooo!"

Vegeta, a normal, or almost normal, guy who had a hidden past, awoke from a very strange dream. He had shot up in a sitting position and was panting very heavily. He could not figure out why he had been having this dream for the past week now. Beads of sweat rolled down the sides of his face. His hands were placed over his eyes as he rubbed them very gently.

His girlfriend, Maron, awoke beside him, when she heard him scream. Maron looked very similiar to the woman he had seen in his dreams. He believed it was her, but something else inside him told him that it was not. Obsidian eyes watched her for a moment. She had smiled at him but it quickly faded into a frown.

"Did you have that dream again?" She watched him nod and sighed. She, too, wished that she could figure out who he was dreaming about. "I see." Her blue eyes glanced down at the blanket covering both of them and then she looked back up at him. "It's kind of funny. Ever since I showed up, You've been having bad dreams. Maybe it's better if I go."

Silence came over them until Vegeta had said something almost inaudible.

       "Get out."

Maron was shocked, but quickly did as he said. She got all her things together and got dressed and was gone before he could even get up to stop her. Not that he would have anyway. The more he dreamed about the mystery woman, the more his feelings grew stronger for her. He had to find out who she was, and he'd do it soon.

At The Capsule Corporation 10:48 AM.

Bulma, the woman that Vegeta had been dreaming about, awoke after having a strange dream. It was the first time that she's ever had this dream. She saw a strange man that she had never seen before in her life. Actually, two whom she had never seen. One she despised so much, and the other, was a man that she had strong feelings for. She wondered if he really existed, and wasn't just a figment of her imagination.

She felt something travelling along her arm and realized it was her boyfriend, Yamcha's lips. She growled slightly and pulled her arm away. It was her way of telling him that she was clearly not in the mood.

"What's wrong, babe?" Yamcha asked with a worried tone.

"Nothing. I just had the strangest dream, that's all." She frowned and looked away, ashamed to face the man she loved, for loving someone else in her dreams.

       "What was it about?"

"I can't explain it, really. There were two people, who looked the same. I was in love with one of them, and it definitely was not you. I don't know who he was. I've never seen him before. It was probably just a figment of my imagination. His father was about to kill me before I woke up." It was weird explaining the dream to Yamcha. She was afraid that he'd freak out, or something.

Silence shrouded them both until Yamcha replied with, "I see. Interesting. It probably didn't mean anything. Don't worry about it, okay? I gotta get ready to go to baseball practice. I'll see you in a little while, ok?" He gently kissed her on the lips before grabbing his clothes and getting ready to go.

Bulma smiled and kissed him back and watched him walk out of the room. Right, it was probably nothing to worry about. She had to get up and get ready for work, anyway.

In a West City Apartment 11:05 AM.

A very powerful warrior by the name of Ninjouzata, which meant blood shed, entered Vegeta's room. The nickname she was given is Jouzii. She was Japan's national dog. The Akita. A cold wet tongue licked his cheek to wake him up because he had fallen asleep, again.

Vegeta was startled and immediately shot up. He glared daggers at the dog for waking him up like that. He gently petted her on the head and snarled, "Get out of here, mutt."

He got up and got ready to leave. It took him about ten minutes, or so. Then he smirked at the dog and opened the door. He paused and said, "Mess up my house, and I'll kill you Jouzii." Then, he left and was on his way out into the world.

At The Capsule Corporation 11:20 AM.

Bulma had just gotten ready to go to work. She was out the door and gasped when she saw someone from her dreams heading her way. She couldn't believe what she was seeing. Maybe she was just hallucinating. She closed her eyes and hoped that he'd disappear and then opened them, but the mystery man was still coming.

Vegeta had the strangest urge to look in the direction of the Capsule Corporation building. As he did, he saw blue hair and a beautiful woman standing by her car. As he got a closer look, his jaw all but dropped.. it was the woman from his dreams.

Chapter Two
A dream becomes reality

Both of them were shocked. Had their dreams become a reality? Neither one of them thought that the other was real. Here they were, standing in front of one another. They were both speachless and really didn't have anything to say to one another.

Bulma boldly made the first move. She moved around her blue Mitsubishi Eclipse and sat on the back of it. She continued to study him carefully until his deep voice broke her out of her reverie.

"What the hell are you staring at, woman?"

"I'm sorry. You look very familiar. Have we met before?"

"I don't keep up with everyone I meet. Even if I did, do you really think I'd want to remember an ugly woman like you?"

"I'll have you know that I happen to be the most beautiful girl on this planet, and any girl would die to have my looks!"

"Whoever told you that was lying." Vegeta began to walk to his destination when he saw the woman from his dreams stop him in his tracks. His facial expression remained the same, it did not show any sign of surprise for a second. When she was closer, he studied her face and realized that she really was the woman from his dreams. It was very clear now. This angel was gorgeous, but he would never admit that.

"You are such an asshole!" Bulma also got a chance to observe his face. Yes, he was the one that she had been dreaming about. "Anyway, I'll deal with you later asshole. I have to go to a very important meeting, because I am a very successful business woman!"

       "Woman."

"My name is BULMA. Bulma Briefs."

Vegeta stopped when he heard that name. She was Bulma Briefs?! He had heard about her on several occasions. Her family owned the Capsule Corporation and she was one of their head scientists. They had always said she was beautiful, but he never imagined her to be quite this beautiful. He smirked and said what he was going to say before she said her name. "Whatever. I'll pick you up here at 8:00PM sharp. Be here, alright?"

"Oh, that's funny. Now you're asking me out on a date, is that it? I'm sorry. Wow, what a funny turn of events."

"You make it sound like a sin."

"I'm taken, so to me, it is."

"Pity." Vegeta began to walk away but was stopped by her angelic voice.

"Wait! I'll go, but, I'm only going to be your friend, and you better not try anything funny mister." Bulma got in her car and growled at having lost the war that she had with Vegeta.

Vegeta continued to walk down the street and watched Bulma as her car drove by him. When he got to the end of the sidewalk, he took another glance at her and noticed that she had been staring at him, too.

"I'll see you tonight, Vegeta." Bulma said before speeding off down the street, before Vegeta could question her. She knew that he was going to be surprised that she knew his name.

12:30 PM Bulma's Meeting.

The beautiful young woman could not keep the handsome rogue that she met earlier today off her mind. What if her dreams were a foreshadowing of what was to come? The way he stared at her earlier made it seem like he might have had the same dream. If he did, she had to find out!

She looked down at her expensive gold watch and noticed it was only 12:30 and groaned. It seemed that her date with Vegeta just wasn't coming fast enough.

1:45 PM Vegeta's Apartment.

Vegeta was just coming through the door to notice Ninjouzata sitting patiently and waiting for him to put the food he had in his hands down. He growled and said, "Get out of here, Jouzii."

He looked around the house and asked, "Were you a good girl while I was gone?" He never expected a voice to actually answer him.

       "Of course."

He growled when he saw a blue haired figure come out of the kitchen. It was Maron. "I thought that I told you to get out, earlier."

       "I've been thinking. . ."

"I don't want to hear it. When I said 'get out,' I meant it! I still do. Nothing is going to change my mind. I want you out of my life. You make me sick."

       "Vegeta, please. . ."

       "GET OUT!"

Upon hearing Vegeta yell, Jouzii seemed to react. She could tell when something or someone was troubling her master. A low growl formed in her throat when she saw Maron pestering Vegeta. Jouzii would not attack unless an attack was made on her master. For now, all she would do is growl and bark as a warning.

Maron saw the dog heading her way and quickly grabbed all of her clothes and other items she left at Vegeta's and got out of his apartment. She knew that he was serious now.

Vegeta laughed and walked over to the large, frightening dog and rubbed her behind the ears, gently. "As much as I hate saying this, Jouzii. I love you."

He looked in the Burger King bag and pulled out a burger for the dog.  Every once in a while he liked to treat the dog to something special, and today she really did deserve it. He pulled out some fries, too. "Here, mutt. You deserve this. Eat up, 'cause that's all you're getting."

Chapter Three
Dining under the stars

Vegeta glanced at the clock on the wall of his cozy little apartment. It was around 6 o'clock. He figured that he should start getting ready soon. Soon, but not at that exact moment. He was too lazy to get up, and besides that he didn't wanna disturb Jouzii whose head was resting on his lap while the rest of her body was stretched across the couch.

6:15 PM at Capsule Corporation.

"You know Yamcha, you're being really irrational about this whole thing."

"I have every right to be."

"I really do believe it's time we start seeing other people. This relationship really isn't working for me. I liked it better when we were just friends. I find it too hard to talk to you, nowadays."

       "Maybe you're right."

       "Of course I am."

"Well. Friends it is, then. I suppose I'd better go check on Puar."

"I'll see you tomorrow, then. Later, Yamcha."

       "Bye. Oh, and Bulma?"

       "Yeah?"

"Good luck on your date, tonight."

"Thanks." Bulma whispered when Yamcha had left the room. She had told Yamcha about her date with Vegeta and he didn't handle it that well. She didn't think he would, but it had been good to be honest with him.

The young Capsule Corp heiress walked into her spacious walk-in closet. Eyes of oceanic blue would scan over every dress trying to find the perfect one. She couldn't seem to decide on a dress, so instead, she pulled out a black miniskirt and a spaghetti strap, shimmering black tank top.

She proceded to the bathroom to take a shower and then fix her hair and get dressed. Then, after that would put on her makeup.

7:15 PM at Vegeta's Apartment.

"Get off me, mutt." Vegeta yelled at the dog as he glanced at the time. He had fallen asleep while watching television since every show had been so damn boring. It had been an hour and fifteen minutes and if he were late then he'd be in deep shit with Bulma.

He got off the couch and ran into his room to choose something to wear, and after that, he rushed into the shower.

7:20 PM at Capsule Corporation.

Bulma couldn't figure out what to do with her hair, so she decided to just leave it down. She applied her strawberry flavored lipgloss to her lips and black eyeliner outlined her beautiful blue eyes. She had decided to wear her favorite pair of knee-high black boots. Now, that was done getting ready she had a little time to herself, so she decided to go downstairs and watch television.

7:45 PM at Vegeta's Apartment.

Jouzii silently watched Vegeta race around the house. Long limbs stretched out in front of her as she got up and stretched her massive body. Muzzle opened wide as she yawned revealing all her strong, sharp teeth. She wagged her tail and decided to go follow her master around the house.

Vegeta was wearing baggy black jeans, a black wife beater, and he decided he was going to wear his onyx leather jacket tonight. What reason did he have to get all fancied up for one simple date? He wasn't gonna abandon his bad boy look just for a beautiful, wealthy, loud mouthed woman.

He walked towards the door of his apartment and gave a glare to Jouzii. Like always, he said something to the beautiful dog. "Keep a good eye out while I'm gone. No Maron. No Strangers. No messing up the house. I'll be back with a girl, later. I promise you'll like her." After that he shut the door and headed to Bulma's house.

8:00 PM at Capsule Corporation.

Bulma sat quietly under the stars, gazing up at them. They seemed so radiant tonight. She was interrupted from her reverie as she heard Vegeta's voice. A smile crossed her lips and she hopped off her car and almost wanted to giggle at the fact that she was taller than him with her boots on.

"What the hell are you staring at?" He said to break her out of her reverie. He smirked when he saw her smile. Then he noticed her holding back a laugh. "Whats so funny?"

       "The fact that you're short."

       "Don't push it, woman."

"OK. So where are you taking me?"

       "For dinner under the stars."

       "That sounds lovely."

Vegeta wasn't going to push the issue that she knew his name, not yet. He was still trying to figure out how she may have known it. Could it be possible that she had had the same dream as he did? No, perhaps he was just being ridiculous. The saiya-jin crashed back down to reality and smirked. "Well, let's get going then." He began to walk up the street and he heard Bulma's angelic voice.

"Are you just going to leave me here?"

"No. I am simply waiting for you to follow." He grinned when Bulma walked towards him, but she did something very bold, next. She grabbed his hand and wrapped her fingers around his. Usually, he would be repulsed by such an act of affection, but something inside him just couldnt bring him to pull his hand away. He simply ignored it and continued with her up the street to the Starlight Bistro, which was an outside Cafe.

Bulma gawked at the place he was taking her. She absolutely loved this place. She smiled at Vegeta and then excitedly whispered, "This is my favorite place to eat!"

"BULMA! VEGETA!" Kakarot, or Goku as Bulma called him, was a close friend to the both of them. Vegeta didn't know that Bulma knew him, and vice versa. It figured that where you went to eat, you could find Kakarot. "Hey guys! What are you doing? Oooh. Wait. I know. See, didn't I tell you that Bulma was the perfect girl for you, Vegeta?"

       "Silence, Kakarot."

"Whoa. Wait a minute..." Bulma chimed in.

"Hey Bulma. Vegeta will treat you real good, unlike that other guy you were with. Well, I gotta go find Chichi. I'll see you lovebirds later!" He rushed off towards the front of the area to wait for his wife who would be arriving soon.

       "You know Goku?"

"His birthname is Kakarot, but yes, I do know him. I have known him since I was but a child."

       "That's cool."

       "He's an idiot."

"You should give him a little more credit than that."

"Like I warned before, don't push it." He sneered as Bulma chuckled.

A waiter walked up to the couple and asked, "Excusez moi, Monsieur Vegeta. Your table is ready. Follow me, sil vous plait." He lead them to a nice table directly under the moonlight and lit by candles.

Vegeta decided to be a gentleman and pulled out Bulmas chair for her. He almost couldnt believe he was actually doing this.

Bulma sat down and politely said, "Thank you."

Vegeta grunted in a response as he pushed her in. He moved around the table and sat down in his own seat and buried his face in the menu, trying to decide what he should have. He decided on a steak and a salad.

Bulma had decided on Shrimp Scampi with a salad. "Vegeta," she quietly asked, "what bands do you listen to?"

"Garbage, Linkin Park, Godsmack, Switchfoot, You know... the good, hard rock stuff."

"Really? I listen to some of those bands, too."

"A prep like you listens to that stuff?"

"Just because I dress in suits and tight clothing does not mean I am all preppy. Ok? I have my wild side, too."

       "I doubt it."

       "Asshole."

Vegeta smirked having won the battle. Just as he was about to say something else, the food arrived. That steak he ordered looked so good. He laughed at the look of surprise on Bulma's face when he had finished the steak and the salad in less than two minutes. "What do you say we go back to my apartment after you finish eating, hmm?"

"Sure, but if you try anything funny, I will not refrain from ripping your balls off and shoving them down your throat. Deal?"

       "Fine."

After about ten minutes, Bulma had finished her food and then the two got ready to head off to Vegeta's apartment. After they were ready, they walked silently down the street to Vegeta's humble home. He opened the door and turned on the lights and looked around for Jouzii. She wasn't in the living room, so the only other place she could be was in the kitchen. He had to warn Bulma first about the dog, especially since the dog didn't like Maron, and Bulma sort of looked like her. "Bulma."

"Yeah?" She loved the way that he said her name.

       "I have a dog."

"Oh, you do? I love dogs!"

"She may growl at you because you sort of look like my ex girlfriend, and Jouzii, my akita, did not like my ex."

       "Ok."

Vegeta let her in and then called for his faithful companion. He saw Ninjouzata slowly and silently come out of the kitchen. As soon as Ninjouzata saw him, she seemed to liven up. The strange part was that Jouzii didn't growl when she saw Bulma. Instead the dog went over and started kissing her to death. "Glad to see she likes you."

"Well of course she does! All doggies love me." Bulma rubbed the dog's stomach, which was its biggest weakness. She was surprised at how soft Jouzii's fur was. It felt like she was running her fingers through velvet.

Vegeta sat down on the couch watching Bulma recieve affection from Jouzii. In a way, he was glad that the dog liked her. He planned on keeping Bulma around a while. Ever since he met her in his dreams, he was completely intrigued by her. Now that she was sitting infront of him, he wanted to become close to her.

Bulma got up and walked towards the couch with the dog. She heard the TV go on and Vegeta's eyes had been instantly glued to it. She chuckled and was a little surprised when she felt a head on her lap. It was Jouzii's. She gently scratched under the dog's chin. Ah yes, she truly did love the big furry creatures. She snuggled closer to Vegeta. Her head rested on his chest gently listening to the fast paced beating of his heart.

The saiya-jin was surprised when the blue haired angel rested her head on his chest. Another bold move that she decided to make. Without much hesitation, he decided to wrap his arm around her, while gently massaging her shoulder. He couldn't take much more of the torment that was going on inside of his mind. Vegeta was about to kiss her until she decided to sit up and pet the foolish dog. He muttered something incoherent under his breath and crossed his arms.

"Vegeta. Do you mind if I stay here, tonight?"

"No. If you don't trust me, you can sleep in my bed and Jouzii will be in to accompany you."

       "And where will you sleep?"

       "On the couch."

"Thank you. I just want you to know I had a wonderful evening." She got up and walked down the hall to his room. Jouzii followed her every step of the way and hopped up onto Vegeta's giant waterbed.

Vegeta simply grunted as he lifted his legs onto the couch and turned on his side, while succumbing to his exhaustion.
