![]() My Bio I am a recent graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology with a B.S. in Imaging and Photographic Technology. After spending four years at this City of Bricks and making wonderful and long lasting friends, I decided that I would utilize my education in a way no one from my department has done before...I would join the Peace Corps and head to Kenya, Africa. You may ask, as many people do, what is this major you speak of...to this day my parents don't even know what it is and what I could really do with it. If you would like to know more, you should check out Andy's, the head of our departments, web page to find out. If the page doesn't confuse you and take you in loop after loop, you will find interesting pictures, stories, and updates from members of this illustrious department. To give you a clue, Andy was the lead imaging consultant during the O.J. Simpson trial. To go further back into my history, I was born on the same day as my sister. June 28, 1979 is a special day. Erin and I grew up as sisters, though we share a birthday and parents, we are twins only by coincidence. Where she is tall (or rather of medium height), I am short, where she has straight hair, I have curly, where she loved sports growing up, I was afraid of the ball, where she was afraid of everything growing up, I feared nothing. The list could go on, but I think you get the point. To make our life a little more hectic and crazy, we also have a younger brother who is 17 months younger than us. I feel really sorry for my mom...three kids in diapers...YIKES! He is definitely the typical younger brother (a pain in the neck) and the typical only boy, though he is nice...sometimes :-). I have two very supportive parents who will let me travel the world unescorted and let me go and be who I need to be without hindering my decisions. They will give advice, and they understand that I may or may not follow their advice because I am young and sometimes stupid. My mother is a courageous person. She has taught me many of the life lessons that have been absorbed via osmosis and constant bickering and nitpicking. Two of the biggest lessons I have learned is that "life sucks, deal with it," and "life is short, do what you can in the time you have before it all slips away." She has Multiple Sclerosis and a complication called Trigeminal Neuralgia. Because of this, she is a strong woman and through this I have learned many of life's little lessons far sooner than many others. I also have a large and strong support group with my extended family... my church. They have been their to help our family through difficult times, and Pastor Florence T. Eddins of Grace United Methodist Church is kind of inadvertently responsible for my joining the Peace Corps...thanks Florence. As for my future, who knows what will happen and how the Peace Corps will shape what I will be in the future. The possibilities are endless and I look forward to the challenge.
