CAMP HE HO HA TO BENEFIT FROM SECOND ANNUAL TOUGH GUY RUN

Congratulations to all the Lions Clubs and members who supported the 5 Parks Tough Guy Run & Dandelion Run/Walk.

Again this year, the event was held on the third Sunday in October (the 15th) and what a beautiful day it was. The sun was shining in Rundle Park and along the race course through the river valley.

This was our second successful half marathon fund raiser in aid of: Camp HE HO HA.

We had 247 runners in the Tough Guy Run and 17 runners/walkers in the Dandelion Run/Walk. Our young District Governor, Lion Larrie Taylor took part in the 22.1 km run. He ran the full course. GOOD-ON-YER, Governor Larrie.

Comments from the runners was positive. "It was a great course". "The organization was very good, especially the water on the course and the food at the finish line". A great many runners said that they would be back next year.

It proves that Clubs working together can achieve many things.

Many thanks go out to the Club members who assisted with the event, especially the organizing committee and their partners who had to share their spouses with us during the year for committee meetings, etc.

The 5 Parks Tough Guy Run is now an annual event with confirmed yearly bookings with the City's Parks & Recreation Dept. and ACT Centre at Rundle Park for the 3rd Sunday of October.

Once again, thanks to all members for helping to making this year's run a success.

Combine two or more people in the pursuit of a common purpose and you can achieve more with less. Together we are able to accomplish what none of us could achieve alone.
