"No person was ever honored for what he received. Honor has been the reward for what he gives."

- Calvin Coolidge

If everything is grace, and everything we have is a gift, then we are nothing more than mere receivers. None of us deserves any reward or honor because whatever we give we have also received. But the beauty of human nature is that it is capable of surpassing itself. And that very capability is itself a gift. One woman in history has been honored by every generation for what she had received -- the fullness of grace.

Lord, make me a genuine giver, with reward as the least motivation. Like your mother and mine, grant me the courage to give my all, because in the end I have to leave everything behind. May my only reward be out of this world.
