| [18] The further we journey in life, things become more complicated. Love, death, eternal life --big things that deal with the ultimate transcendening our preoccupation with our jobs, our friends, our enemies, or health problems. But fulfillment in life is not found only when we reach the end or in big events. It is found in the here and now, in finding meaning in the seemingly insignificant cares of the present moment, its joys and sorrows. "Carpe diem" -- To seize the day, to capture it, to live it fully is a challenge of meaning. Lord, nothing is absurd or meaningless, but let me give each moment of my life a personal meaning, a personal touch. Let me live reflectively, going above the rat race, and I am fulfilled. |
