[17]
"Happiness is not what you can get from life; it's what you give to others."

The world defines happiness in terms of having a good job, a nice car, a comfortable house, the right kind of friends and connections, etc. It's all getting something from life.

Lord, how foolish it is to equate happiness with these passing things and relationships. A good job does not last. One can lose it, or retire. Certainly cars and homes do not last forever. Even friends and connections end. Let my happiness be rooted in things that last, in the good deeds I do, the gifts I share, the love I give to others.
