| [15] Our capacity to enjoy material goods is limited. When our stomach is full we simply lose the appetite to eat, even if there's still food to eat. This is true with everything: sports, rest, entertainment, etc. It doesn't matter if you have more money than the guy next door. You and he can only eat as much. The laughter of a rich man is not necessarily louder than the laughter of a poor man. Lord, my body is limited but my spirit is not. It is capable of you, the infinite. Why is it that I spend more time taking care of my finite needs: food and clothing. What shall we to eat, what are we to wear? I am more than my body. Today, Lord, let me "expand" my spirit, let me soar higher than usual. |
